1207 - Pencils

This is the lead in to the Ponyland arc, in which I'll be shifting the narrative POV to Sixx and Trina (or Red and Black Knight I should say). I'm either gonna turn the colours up to eye-searingly neon or a soft pastel. I'll determine which is better suited for the arc when I get onto the colours for 208. My aim here is to keep the story flowing through visuals without getting too bogged down with dialogue which I have a bad habit of. Fingers crossed I can pull this off.
Lastly, I know it's bad form to share too much of my own life here, but since it does directly impact my work on the strip I feel like I owe transparency. I've been trying to get myself off my anti-depressants (sertraline) for the past few months, resulting in some fun times. After talking to my doc and my partner, I'm opting to stay on them permanently. I'm a fair bit more level right now which has helped me work through the latest bout of art block.
Anyways. I thank y'all for being so patient and understanding with me all these years. It's really been a rough ride the past several years and I would be in a far worse place without y'all supporting me. So again: Thank you. I'll see y'all in a day or two with inks, and the finished product this weekend. Love y'all~

I'd third pastels; I think you can get a lot of mileage with them-- though honestly it matters more the vibe you're going for- it might be interesting to turn the saturation up around the borders to show it's a distorted vision of what's really going on.

2022-10-12 22:42:59 +0000 UTCI'd wonder is pastels may work to show their being under Blackstone's control due to a certain level of suppression of their wills. You could go to the brighter colors at such times when Blackstone or the others are POV.
