Talkback Post

So I'm a bit of a mess mentally and after my previous post regarding what I planned to do to save my clearly failing career as a NSFW cartoonist person, I've found myself more confused and unsure about any and every thought that's entered my head since. So think of this as feedback post. What do y'all want from me? Y'all are paying me to do this afterall.

So to try and explain it clearly. The original reason I started following your work is because I really like the idea of hot characters battling it out in BDSM, sex, super fights with crazy fetish magic and mind control. While I am enjoying the main plot of collar 6, I don't think it is strictly necessary to have a big overarching plot like that. What I think you do need though are short micro-plots and conflicts (potentially as their own separate comics) where characters clash in some way and then settle things in some manner of BDSM battle. For example off the top of my head: A short AU comic where Sixx and Laura are in a relationship, only for Laura to come home acting strangely one evening. Later that night Laura gets Sixx in restraints only to reveal that Butterfly has brainwashed her with Dominant magic, and intends to do the same thing to Sixx through Laura. Cue an emotional struggle that ends in a cliffhanger. Next page has Sixx and Laura in front of Butterfly who is gloating at them. However Sixx then reveals that she broke the magic and they came here to bring her to justice. One final over the top BDSM battle ensues which ends with Sixx defeating butterfly and leaving her tied up and horny in a compromising position. You can then take that individual finished comic and sell it as a standalone product on Gumtree or something like other lewd artists do.

Masked Menace

Hello there, what I want: - don't stress yourself too much. - work on one strip/upload/image primarily and only sprinkle in others to give yourself a break from the one. - work on short/self-contained items, they are easier on your minde and I like them the same as long running stuff. Realy, girl, take it easy. :-) I am happy with your work. Greetings Juy Juka

Take care of you, and if/when you feel like drawing, draw something fun for you to draw, something that sparks joy.

Pete Spicer

Maybe you should try to stop drawing for a while, just to have a clear head.

I've been following your main storyline for years now so I am clearly biased lol. But I feel like given your own frustrations that you've voiced before, the long-form might be best shelved for the time being? I will be quite happy to see shorter, even one-shot kinky scenarios instead like you described in your previous update. And on top of that, I think this will give you the breathing room to indulge in art that you might also find fun to do instead of feeling like a chore, again just going by what you've been sharing with us the last few months. This would also have the added bonus of being able to involve the community more with polls, unsurprisingly following a planned long-running story doesn't leave that much space for patron input, whereas with shorter art and comics you can do that much easier.

I want you to make what you enjoy making. What feels good. Because those stretches when you're feeling better about yourself and your abilities, there's a certain joy in your art that's hard to put into words, but is definitely there and makes reading what you make even more of a joy. I'll confess I have a particular fondness for the "slice of life turned kinky" kind of stuff, but again; as long as you have pleasure making what you do, I can happily enjoy what you make.

Take your time, relax and don't stress out over it, as others have mentioned, don't set hard deadlines. I am quite certain that most of us would be happy with a post every other week, or even every third week or once a month, if that meant your mental health wouldn't have to suffer from it. The important part here is your mental health, stressing out over making new posts won't do your mental stability any good, so take the time you need for whatever story/page you feel like doing at the time. We aren't here because we demand something rapidly, we are here because we enjoy reading what you come up with, even if that takes time to ensure your mental health and stability. As the saying goes; Slow and Steady Wins the Race.

Just do what you have to do to keep yourself alive and operational. Draw what you can, when you can. Don't set deadlines or any sort of hard schedule. You can aim for a goal, but no one here will hold you to anything. My hope is that eventually you can complete your "magnum opus" storyline, but there's no rush. It's ok to produce other stuff any time you want, whatever your inspiration is at the moment. You can do new stuff. You can go back to any of your old premises. Heck, you can even just release words (sentences and paragraphs) of what you think your story line{s] might continue with, and not try to draw it. (Maybe you'd be a novelist, or a short story writer.) If you have the story, then at some future time you can draw it. Just do something, anything. Hang in there, keep the faith.

Great Scott

Have fun, I will continue to support no matter what you choose. Also let us know if we can help in some other way, I know it's not easy to ask but you never know when someone might have a solution to a problem that has nothing to do with the comic.

Evil Moose

I do love a good amount of interesting 'evil' in my stories, but I feel like it might be interesting to set up a 'status quo' universe for that, and go off of single or short 2 to 3 panel stripes. Sort of a slice of life but in a darker way, if that makes sense. I know I'm pretty heavily kink driven. Mental health comes first; DO what you can draw and we'll be behind you!

Triancia

I like the long stories but I understand if you feel the need to take a break. Your mental health should never be ignored

Will

I would drop the long stories, they are not working out. Go with either single strips or something short (2 or 3 strips long). Also, keep changing up what you are working on, focusing on just one is hurting you.

Wild Card

Sex and kink is more of a spectrum, it's possible to be kinky without explicit sex, but kink doesn't have to be completely detached from sex either. Honestly, I just like seeing kinky scenarios. Story-driven, casual slice-of-life stuff, extreme scenarios, or just wacky hijinks that involve kink are all fine with me. Something I've seen other creators do is run polls for what kinds of things the audience wants to see. So if you feel like you've hit a wall creatively you could do something like that. Have a kink list people vote on and then make something based off the winner. Have a post for others to suggest a one-shot comic panel or picture and create polls based on those user-submitted suggestions.

Kevin

I like sexy short stories. I like sexy longer stories. Slice of kinky life and slice of magical kinky life. My favorite arcs were Sixx and her harem just being happy together. I’d like to see Laura walking with a clipboard as Sixx dictated notes on hotel inspections. Gingers cousins terrifying staff if their cleaning is sub par. Trina topping and subbing as makes her joyful. Idk older I get the more I like happy, funny stuff. And I’m 42, so you only have a few years on me.

Get yourself feeling better. Then after focusing on yourself you can go about making things. We don't expect you to pump out artwork singlehandedly like you're a one person production studio lol. Even if all you can do is once a week or month and post sketches the rest of the time that's enough I'd say. If you wanted to, take on some help. Someone that can focus on writing/story boarding. Working with you and taking your direction for things into account. Partnering with someone when things become to much to handle alone is a good option. Or slowing down when you need to is good as well. Don't bite off more than you can chew as yhe saying goes. No artist doing what you have for so long can keep up everything alone forever. And when you get back into things... those that are loyal will be waiting. And those that dropped off might return. Don't always put everything on yourself. Let your fan base and fellow artists help. That way... maybe you can even focus on yourself more and find less weight on those proverbial shoulders

Just be yourself. Do a little bit talky stuff, some smut, why not? And lots of relationship and shiny latex. You do this for the decade length, and you manage it good.

ED

To be honest, the bondage is fun. Sixx as a ponygirl? Great! Other characters ending up in restraints? Great! I'm not that fond of smut as you put it a few posts ago. I'm not here for pointless sex, I'm here because I enjoy your work. I hope one day you're able to believe that yourself. (Also, 46? You're not old, stop being so negative. You could potentially have twice as long again ahead of you, you're right in your stride! Embrace it.)

enygma

Take care of your mental health, first and foremost.
