C6 Re-Booted (No, that's not the title)
Added 2024-09-02 04:12:35 +0000 UTCSo I believe I'm going to go forward with the C6 reboot as there's just too much in the OG C6 that doesn't work for me anymore. Especially the violence. And the ridiculously comic-book lore that requires me to have the characters standing around talking for a hundred strips. So with that said, I will continue to update the OG Collar6 from time to time but like many of you have pointed out, this dark narrative has become super stressful for me and I struggle to make any real progress. WildCard's suggestion of 'writing out the rest of the arc' is definitely something I've thought about a few times myself though were I to go that route I'd definitely make it an illustrated story. Not sure just yet on that front.
On the matter of the reboot, I intend to focus on the three houses of Sixx, Butterfly and Blackstone. Each house will have the current casts from OG C6 and their personalities intact, though all the traumatic, world-saving, violence stuff having never occurred. Effectively, I'm coming into this without any long set ups or introductions. I want to keep it bright, colourful and focused on sexy bondage scenarios without the violence.
And yes, since several of you have asked, the ponies will definitely carry over because I really enjoy the ponyplay. There will still be conflict though it'll be light-hearted and no one getting seriously injured anymore. No more world-saving stuff that bogs down the fetish either. I still have a fair bit of things to work out but this is something I've wanted and considered for a very long time and there's a huge sense of relief knowing y'all are on board for this and I can actually go forward with it.
Naturally the existing spin-off strips like Collar(ed)6, Collar d6 and the like exist in their own universes and will continue to pop up from time to time as they tend to do.
Also, the one thing I noticed about the Blackstone arc is how much everyone loves the ponies and I'm curious to what degree the ponyplay should feature into this reboot. A central theme? An element that just shows up when Blackstone is about? (Sixx is totally gonna own Alexia in this reboot, for the record, and will no doubt wind up poniefied herself because reasons). Oh and the hypnosis/mind control stuff is a huge kink of mine so that'll remain intact as well.

All the thinking seems good here. Regarding ponies being a central theme, I don't think that'd be strictly necessary- you've already got your pony characters as you say, and already outlined Sixx getting ponified, so I think you're covered there regarding having it as a B-Plot that can shift into the A spot as whim demands.. I'd also (naturally) encourage hypnoplay or mind-control, and if you're wanting to make it lighter-but-still-spicy, there's plenty of fics or the like I could recommend that keep that in mind...though if in doubt, Stage Hypnotist it out! ;)

2024-09-06 07:09:14 +0000 UTCHypnosis is one of my biggest kinks personally so to not have it included would be to deny myself one of my motivating factors for making these. How I've executed it is the problem. It's always been non-consensual and leading to very negative outcomes and trauma for the characters rather than say, using it to help a character have an experience they desire yet need help achieving. In that same token, I do intend to keep fantasy conflicts, just without the seriousness, gore and what not. As I explained elsewhere, I want this to be more Ranma 1/2 and less End of Evangelion. Not sure how much sense I'm making as I'm not always the best at conveying my thoughts.

Ponyplay is her thing, Butterfly has something different, same for Sixx. Let them each have their own flavor of kink. I find the involuntary stuff / mind control a very big negative, but I see above you want to keep it. That is something I would have expected to be dropped as one of the sources of the stress you keep hitting. To me it is non-consensual mental violence, and you said that you wanted to eliminate the violence from the strip. So please tread here very carefully.

Trying something new while still occasionally going back to the old stuff will help shake things up and prevent the burnout that comes from focusing on one story. As far as the pony stuff goes, I like it. It's a great combination of gear and dominance. Ponyplay is one of my main kinks, so I would be happy if the entire story was like that, but I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea. I think keeping pony stuff limited to Blackstone's house and storylines involving her is a good way of keeping pony stuff in while allowing other kinks for the different houses. I don't mind non-con stuff that much. The thing about fiction is that it's a way to explore scenarios that would be unsafe to do IRL. Non-con in fiction is about experiencing the thrill of being helpless without actually having it happen to real people, the same way a fantasy story can be a way of experiencing a fight with a dragon without actually having to fight a dragon (which is impossible and would be really traumatizing if you could). So I don't really get bent out of shape for non-con stuff for the purpose of fantasy. That being said, I don't care either way. Write what's interesting for the story.

I am looking forward to more of your beautifull art. I have a big smile because of that. I do not like the ponies anymore. I can enjoy one or two scenes of ponies, becaus your's are still sexy rubber gear and girls, and because working as a hores (pulling a cart or so) can be played submissiv/dominant. But after one or two scenes it is not giving me something new and fun to enjoy anymore, it is (for me) immediatelly stale. I do not like non-con at all. There is way way way too little real BDSM content out there, because the consensual nature of such relationships is hard to portray. I am happy to see realistically consens stories. I am unhappy to see non-con stories. I do not like mind-controll at all. For me it removes the purpose of being submissiv. The physical acts (for example whiping) do not mean anything by themselfs, because the occur in other context too (hearding cattle, war, etc.) and only if the mind of both (all?) partners is going along something ... BDSM happens (something magical happens) (something beautifull happens). Greetings Juy Juka

And I'm all on the mind control aspect too (hey, brainwashing people into ponies is hot in my book!) Granted, I am glad to see things get back to being a bit more light hearted and episodic, esspecially if it helps the ol' muse.

2024-09-02 13:14:47 +0000 UTCI am all for seeing the art you want to make, but I find myself just a little hesitant on the mind control elements in play - writing the submission stuff is ok… as long as it’s pretty consensual, or there’s consequences for doing it. Collared6 is cool because Michelle ultimately wants it, rather than it being entirely forced on her, and as for the current Blackstone arc, I’ve been rooting for the rescue that sees Michelle return to her dominant nature, because this wasn’t what she wanted. I’m not 100% sure I’m on board with (actual) non-con that doesn’t have consequences, because consent is cool, yo. Non-con for dramatic purposes that leads to the perpetrator having a comeuppance is also a good thing. It’s been fine so far in Collar6 because it’s always been implied that there will be a reckoning for it all one day. I think something special would be lost without that.

2024-09-02 09:57:06 +0000 UTCI love seeing Michelle be turned into a pony and slowly broken in, when you were originally uploading the pony arc comics on deviantart I wrote one of my first (extremely bad) fanfictions about an ending where Michelle becomes a pony full time. hell, if you ever finished up Collared6 and wanted a similar premise you could do one with Blackstone and Michelle. personally though, I want to see you make the art you want to make, do whatever appeals to you in the moment cause that's the best way to make it so you feel more positively about your art. I'm excited to see what you do with the reboot.

The mild mind control of the magical cat petsuits was always a fave of mine. Could imagine a pony iteration of one of those suits being how Blackstone tames and claims Sixx. Reducing her to an anonymous crimson-skinned pony. :3

It's the total control, the forcing, the sheer overwhelming that can just make you do something, become something, be something and not be able to fight back. You could see it from your art in Michelle's eyes are she was slowly taken over in stages during the training. That's what I was loving Now, I have always said that you should do what you like to keep yourself going and if the reboot goes ahead I will support. I do agree though that the current story needs to be finishing. I'm sure we've all gone through enough cancelled on a cliffhanger tv showd to be too content with it just being left, so knowing you do want to finish it at some point makes me content. (God's how much does part of me want the ending to be Blackstone wins and turns out to be benevolent so everyone can be happy and subby...)
