159. I Am Unparalled

Uchiha Madara, out of necessity, explained the events following Uchiha Gin’s death in vivid detail to the mildly annoyed Uchiha Haru.

Despite the unlikely nature of the subject, Haru, out of respect for Madara's status, patiently listened, albeit with a frown.

"Ah, I understand."

As expected from an expert, Uchiha Haru managed to deduce a rough idea from Madara's account.

Clenching his fist with a look of sudden realization, he continued,
"So, based on what you’re saying, after Uchiha Gin had been dead for a while, a tattoo on his forehead underwent an unusual change, spontaneously generating a huge amount of Yang chakra. This chakra healed his fatal injuries and even revived him."

"Yes, exactly!"

Talking with someone sharp made things easier.

If he’d been talking to a dimwit, Madara thought, he might have lost his patience completely.

"When did the tattoo disappear?"

Haru’s face, etched with deep lines of thought, glanced over at Gin’s smooth forehead, noticing it lacked the strange markings Madara had mentioned.

"Once the injuries healed and his life force returned, the tattoo gradually vanished."

Recalling the journey back, Madara remembered that as Gin's vitals returned to normal, the tattoo faded away as if it had never existed.

"It appears that Uchiha Gin has mastered a secret technique capable of reviving life by stimulating cell activity."

Haru nodded, accurately guessing the nature of Gin’s regenerative technique.

"But why hasn’t Cousin woken up yet?"

Madara, relieved by Haru's deduction, nonetheless couldn’t help but ask, concerned about his cousin's prolonged unconsciousness.

"Any extraordinary power has a heavy cost. For a secret technique that manipulates life and death like Uchiha Gin's, the price he paid must have been tremendous…"

With brows furrowed, Haru’s tone grew unusually grave, preparing to discuss the worst possible outcome.

Hearing the regret in Haru's voice, Madara’s heart tightened, slipping into deep remorse.
"It’s all my fault. If only I hadn't…"

"Elder Haru! Uchiha Gin…"

As Haru was about to declare Gin’s prognosis, an urgent voice broke in.

"What’s going on? Why the commotion? Show some manner!"

Frowning, Haru scolded the intruding researcher, then turned back to Madara with an apologetic look.

"Apologies for the interruption, young master. Let’s continue discussing Uchiha Gin’s condition…”

"Elder Haru, Uchiha Gin has woken up!"

"The cost of his secret technique may have been his very soul power, which is why he’s been comatose—"

"Elder! Elder! Can you hear me?"

"Enough! Can’t you see we’re discussing serious matters?"

Annoyed by his subordinate’s constant interruptions, Haru made a mental note to reprimand the researcher later.

"Young master, let’s continue. Uchiha Gin—"

Before Haru could finish his sentence, Madara, with a perplexed expression, glanced at the anxious researcher and spoke up.

"Speak up, quickly!"

Mio turned to his subordinate, a piercing coldness in his eyes.

"Young master, Elder Mio, Uchiha Gin... he’s awake!"

"What?"

Haru felt as if he’d been slapped.

Fortunately, he hadn’t pronounced that Gin would never wake up, or he’d have been utterly humiliated.

"Really! I need to see him!"

Madara, overjoyed, wasted no time and hurried to Gin’s room, leaving Haru behind.

Before he reached the room, he could hear Gin’s playful voice calling out,
"Hey, Cousin! My arms, my legs, my chest—they’re all paralyzed! Hurry and peel me an orange to quench my thirst!"

With his hand frozen on the door handle, Madara’s eyes welled with tears.

Composing himself, he took a deep breath, wiped his eyes, and, wearing his usual composed face, entered the room.

"Cousin, you’re pretty hard to kill, huh!"

"Listen to this guy! Is that any way to greet someone?"

Feigning illness, Gin was joking around with the delighted Uchiha Izuna.

Seeing Madara’s cool expression as he entered, Gin was about to greet him, but Madara's blunt comment made him roll his eyes.

"How did you survive?"

Seeing Gin alive and well filled Madara with joy, but he was curious.

Looking around the room, he noticed Izuna, Tajima, and other clan members, and decided to ask the burning question on everyone’s mind.

"Ah, well, that takes us back a few years to a certain night…"

Gin began a whimsical tale but stopped as soon as he saw Madara’s unimpressed expression, quickly returning to a serious tone.

"Cough, well, you know my constitution has always been weak."

"Hmph! You don’t sound at all like your father—so glib, not a word of truth in your mouth!"

Entering behind Madara, Haru overheard and scoffed, exposing Gin’s lie.

"Your health has always been excellent; weak constitution, my ass."

Tch! This old man talks too much.

Should I burn newspaper for him as offering at his grave someday?

"Uh, Elder Haru is absolutely right!"

Gin, knowing when to yield, gave a thumbs-up in agreement.

"But that’s now. In the past, my constitution was indeed weak. Everyone knows that, right?"

His face clouded for a moment, then showed a glimmer of hope as he continued.

"True." Haru stroked his chin, recalling how he’d monitored Gin’s health after a traumatic event years ago, an experience still etched in his memory.

"I spent years researching ways to improve my constitution, working tirelessly, sometimes skipping meals. Ask Haruka; I even became hypoglycemic!"

Gin’s face remained calm as he lied confidently, sounding entirely convincing.

"Uh, well, Gin-san does like sweets… maybe he was, uh, hypoglycemic?"

Haruka, caught off guard, hesitantly nodded, his gaze drifting in uncertainty.

"See? I told you!"

Gin clapped his hands, interrupting everyone’s thoughts before they could scrutinize his story.

"Eventually, I developed a healing technique that may have touched the ancestors technique themselves."

"Ha-choo! Sorry, Cousin, please continue."

Madara, startled by a sneeze, rubbed his nose with an apologetic look.

"Cousin, you actually have such skills?"

Izuna looked at Gin, eyes shining with admiration.

"Heh, I have quite the talent for innovation."

Gin’s nose lifted proudly, his voice a little smug.

While most dismissed his bragging, Tajima and Haru exchanged thoughtful glances.

They knew Gin’s background well enough to wonder if he’d truly inherited such a genius brain

"Fine. I’ll assume it’s your own secret technique. Since we’re alone, could you explain your resurrection technique?"

With a determined look, Haru sought to uncover every detail of Gin’s method.

"Sigh… if you insist!"

Gin shrugged with a ‘you leave me no choice’ look, then began explaining.

"The technique is called Yin Seal. By… skilled practitioners can use the chakra stored in the forehead seal to keep themselves youthful, enhance physical functions, and maintain peak condition."

Gin shared all he knew about the Yin Seal, his technical explanations intriguing even the less knowledgeable listeners.

"Hmm, I see~" Haru nodded, feigning deep understanding, but he was genuinely impressed.

"This technique is incredible!"

Tajima followed, showering praise.

"Uh, what?"

Madara and Izuna exchanged confused looks, somewhat lost.

"Staying youthful, huh?"

Only Haruka caught on to the “youthfulness” aspect, eyeing Gin’s still-youthful appearance with determination.

Learn! No matter what, I must learn this!

"Alright, since Gin is well, let’s give him some rest."

Once Gin revealed the secret, Tajima subtly signaled for everyone to leave.

"Cousin, stay put, and I’ll bring some oranges tomorrow!"

Izuna waved as he left.

"Feels like he’s taking advantage of me."

"Rest up, Cousin, and we’ll resume training when you’re ready."

With a rare smile, Madara left the room.

"Gin-san I’ll go inform Itama and others. They’ll visit tomorrow."

With a slight bow, Haruka also took her leave.

"I’ll go check the test results."
Haru, initially planning to stay and question Gin further, caught a hint from Tajima’s gaze and left with an excuse.

Gin watched as everyone left, raising an eyebrow, then dropped the act, grabbing an apple only to spit it out after finding a worm.

"Ugh! Uncle, what is it?"

"Gin, tell me honestly. Did Uchiha Igaku teach you this secret technique?"
