“Speak or are you trying to make me angry?”
Bibi Dong frowned, holding Qian Renjue’s face in the dark, her voice carrying a hint of softness.
“Uh, I’m thinking!”
Qian Renjue held Bibi Dong’s hands to steady himself as he spoke.
“Think carefully.”
Bibi Dong’s purple eyes glimmered in the darkness, as if trying to catch any hint of dishonesty.
Qian Renjue pondered and used this chance to reflect on the women around him.
From Hu Liena to Ye Lingling, each one was different.
Seeing Qian Renjue stay silent for a while, Bibi Dong bit her lip, wondering if he truly had many women outside.
No wonder he sneaked out every day.
“Are there many?”
Bibi Dong asked softly.
“N-No, not that many,” Qian Renjue answered hurriedly. “Maybe three… for now.”
“Hmm?”
Three? It didn’t sound like much, but Bibi Dong’s expression grew more serious.
“Explain, Jue. What do you mean by ‘maybe’ and ‘for now’?”
Qian Renjue scratched his head and gently freed himself from Bibi Dong’s grasp.
“There really aren’t that many,” he explained. “Ah Yin doesn’t really count as one, right? And Ning Rongrong from the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile doesn’t count either.”
Hearing his explanation, Bibi Dong felt slightly relieved and said coldly, “Why wouldn’t she count? You seem quite fond of her type, don’t you?”
“Well…”
Qian Renjue chuckled awkwardly, unsure how to refute her.
It was true that the feel was quite nice, and Ah Yin was rather… attentive.
“Hmph! Looks like you’ve been enjoying yourself.”
Bibi Dong huffed, adopting an authoritative tone. “Now, tell me, who are these three? And how did they attract you? What did they do?”
“Huh?”
“Just tell me straight to the point!”
Bibi Dong blushed, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
“Honestly… we didn’t do much, just some kissing and hugging,” Qian Renjue admitted sincerely.
“Kissing and hugging… then why was Ling Yuan like that?”
“Ah? That…”
“Was she trying to force you?”
“Ah?!”
The whispers in the darkness grew increasingly heated.
After clarifying everything, Bibi Dong leaned on him like she was tipsy, finally at ease, and drifted off to sleep in his arms.
Qian Renjue held her close, covering his face with his hand, hoping Ling Yuan wouldn’t be too upset with him.
With the others, it really was just kissing and hugging, but Ling Yuan had been the one he explored the most.
He sighed deeply, feeling the soft, warm arms wrapped around him, radiating love.
---
The next morning.
A purple glow filled the sky as dawn broke.
Bibi Dong slowly opened her purple eyes, resting her hand lightly on her forehead, feeling the warmth beneath her.
She gazed at the handsome face beside her, a hint of resignation appearing on her beautiful face.
She hadn’t expected Qian Renjue to have grown so close with so many women without her noticing.
But fortunately, it was still within a manageable range.
Qian Renjue had been restrained and hadn’t gone too far with any of them.
According to Qian Renjue’s confession, four women had grown close with him: his fiancée from the Ye family and three others—Nana, Ah Yin, and Ling Yuan.
The one who concerned Bibi Dong the most was Ling Yuan.
She had assigned Ling Yuan to protect Qian Renjue from being lured by outside temptations, yet Ling Yuan herself had grown close to him and had advanced the furthest.
It was frustrating, yet she knew this was inevitable.
She needed to recognize her position, understand that eventually, others would be by Qian Renjue’s side to care for and support him.
"Jue…”
Bibi Dong stroked his face, her eyes filled with concern.
“I know you’re exceptional, and many women will be drawn to you,” she whispered. “But I still hope you’ll spend more time with me… just you and Xiao Xue.”
After her words faded, Bibi Dong leaned forward and placed a longer-than-usual good morning kiss on his cheek.
“Good morning, Jue…” she whispered, pulling herself up, adjusting her slip that had fallen off her shoulder.
She casually draped Jue’s coat over herself and headed toward the dimly lit courtyard.
After her footsteps faded, Qian Renjue opened his purple eyes, his gaze complex as he touched the warmth beside him.
He knew how precious these moments were.
The most important things in his life had never changed.
On the rooftop, Hu Liena was already seated, preparing to cultivate the Purple Demon Eye. She greeted Bibi Dong with a crisp voice.
“Teacher!”
“Mm, Nana. Train well,” Bibi Dong replied, glancing at Hu Liena knowingly.
“I will, Teacher,” Hu Liena smiled and nodded.
Together, teacher and student began cultivating the Purple Demon Eye.
With strong mental energy, the technique progressed quickly, as the purple aura only accelerated cultivation rather than being necessary for it.
Time passed, and the sun rose higher.
Qian Renjue watched Bibi Dong head off to the Pope’s Hall, while Hu Liena continued training in the yard, practicing the Crane and Dragon Control technique.
Occasionally, she stole glances at Qian Renjue, her focus wavering.
“Ah!”
Hu Liena cried out, clutching her head in pain.
“Nana, are you training or daydreaming?”
Qian Renjue scolded her playfully.
“I'm not daydreaming!”
Hu Liena retorted, her face was red as she eyed Qian Renjue’s loosely tied robe.
Suddenly, an idea flashed in her eyes, and she jogged over to Qian Renjue, inviting him to spar.
“Brother, don’t just sit there. Spar with me; let’s practice the Crane and Dragon technique.”
“Hm?”
Qian Renjue was about to agree when he noticed Hu Liena’s mischievous gaze fixed on his chest.
“Come on, Brother~”
Hu Liena twisted slightly, planning to “accidentally” tug off his robe during their practice.
