169. Reincarnation Eye

In the inner hall bathed in a purple glow, the dim-eyed Hamura Otsutsuki gazed at the unassuming descendant before him, sensing immense potential within him—potential that, with just a little guidance, could soar to great heights.

“No, no, no! How could I make such a decision against the ways of my ancestors?” protested Uchiha Gin, shaking his head like a rattle drum. He kept refusing with words, but his body betrayed him as he turned slightly, displaying an empty pocket lined with hints.

“Come on, the Sage of Six Paths is my great ancestor, my kin. We... Ah, it’s impossible!”

Hamura looked at Gin, who seemed uncooperative, a bit displeased.

“In this day and age, people still want freebies? Where’s the justice in that?” Gin mumbled.

“Ancestor...” the more shrewd, lean man beside Hamura approached quietly, whispering in his ear.

“Huh? Oh, I see... right!” Hamura’s confused expression morphed into one of understanding, as he turned to the man beside him with a look of approval.

The implications were clear—power struggles don’t end with death.

“Understood. But my body no longer exists,” Hamura said, spreading his hands and twirling in place to show his ethereal, floating form.

“Hold it! I’m not falling for that, old man! What did you even say to him?” Gin cut him off, shouting at the lean man.

“I thought you were respectable, but turns out you’re the most unscrupulous one here.”

“Uh...?” The lean man looked bewildered, wondering what he’d done wrong.

“I have nothing left,” Hamura continued, oblivious to Gin’s complaints. “All that remained of my possessions was divided among the surviving Otsutsuki descendants. I have nothing left to offer.”

Gin sighed with relief. “Whew! You almost scared me there. But could you try not to be so dramatic next time?”

“Uncle, it’s not that I don’t want to help, but this is really a tough situation.” Without any tangible benefits, Gin was reluctant to waste his time on a thankless task.

If rumors spread that he was an Otsutsuki descendant, who knows what wandering monks might come looking for him.

“If you truly seek something, however, there might be a way,” Hamura said, detecting Gin’s hesitation.

His pale eyes turned contemplative, and after a brief pause, he continued, “Among the surviving branch family of the Otsutsuki, there exists a Reincarnation Eye (Energy Vessel), passed down for thousands of years. If you agree to my terms, I’ll bestow it upon you.”

Gin was taken aback. It turned out this old man wasn’t as simple as he seemed—beneath that gentle appearance was a cunning mind, cleverly negotiating for twice the benefit.

“What’s a Reincarnation Eye?” Gin asked, though inwardly grumbling.

“Since you’re interested, let me show you,” Hamura replied, pleased to see Gin’s curiosity piqued. With a wave, he cast purple light across the room, creating an immersive scene.

In the ancient battleground on the moon, two factions of warriors faced off, each side flying a banner representing their camp. Gin stood amidst the battle, astounded by the realism.

“Whoa, this is like a real 3D blockbuster!” he muttered.

“This was the Otsutsuki clan of old, a conflict between the main family and the branch family,” Hamura said as he floated to Gin’s side, explaining, “On this side, the main family followed my divine mandate, protecting the moon’s secrets and observing humanity’s harmony below.”

Pointing to the left faction, Hamura’s eyes filled with regret—those loyal descendants were all gone.

“And on this side... rebels!” he spat, turning to the opposing side, his eyes flashing with anger as he ground his teeth. “But enough of that. Just watch.”

In the battle scene, the main family charged under the command of a long-haired man, attacking their former kin with fervor.

“Hey, that guy looks pretty powerful. Is that you?” Gin nudged the sullen long-haired man nearby, asking curiously.

The long-haired man, initially stern, allowed a proud smirk to break through and nodded twice.

This brat wasn’t so annoying after all.

“Ah, but those were days of glory... back then, I—”

“Right, I won’t ask then~” Gin interrupted, already turning back to the action, dismissing him as a mere background character.

“How dare you!” The long-haired man’s eyes flared red as he clenched his fists, suppressing an urge to pummel the cheeky youth.

“Reincarnation Eye, activate!” commanded the leader of the rebel faction.

Gin then noticed a movable tower among the branch family’s ranks, topped with a giant stone eye.

Under their control, the eye burst into a fierce purple light, radiating an aura that seemed to crush the world.

Wherever the purple light reached, corpses piled up, the worst hit being the long-haired man who lay groaning on the ground.

In mere moments, the proud main family had been crushed by the overwhelming power of the Reincarnation Eye.

“This is the Reincarnation Eye. What do you think?” Hamura asked, a hint of pride in his voice. This was the ultimate weapon his bloodline produced, capable of outshining even the Tailed Beasts.

“Well... I can only describe it in two words,” Gin replied, blue-white eyes fixed on Hamura.

“Go on.”

Gin nodded seriously. “A lumbering giant.”

Recalling how the Reincarnation Eye required a dozen people to move it slowly, he offered a blunt assessment.

“But it’s powerful!” Hamura said, puzzled by Gin’s lack of enthusiasm. Shouldn’t this be a coveted treasure?

“Yeah, but you can’t expect me to carry that thing everywhere I go. It’d be a hassle!” Gin replied. Still, the sight of the eye sparked his imagination.

It wasn’t too big, he mused.

Mounted on his Susanoo's head, it might look just right.
