Upon hearing Qian Renxue’s words, Qian Renjue nodded thoughtfully.
“Sister, you’re right. The Star Luo Royal Family is indeed stronger than Heaven Dou.”
“But their princes aren’t nearly as formidable.”
“What I lack now, apart from time, is just the right opportunity.”
Seeing the confidence on Qian Renjue’s face, Qian Renxue couldn’t help but smile.
“You sound like you’re quite confident about this, Jue.”
“Of course!” Qian Renjue replied seriously, reaching out to hold Qian Renxue’s hand.
“Since Sister managed to control Heaven Dou Empire, it wouldn’t be right for me, as the Holy Son, to fall behind.”
Hearing this, Bibi Dong’s gaze softened with a hint of reproach.
“Jue, it’s fine to want to conquer Star Luo without bloodshed, but you must prioritize your own safety, understand?”
“Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll be careful,” Qian Renjue replied with a nod and a smile.
“That’s good,” Bibi Dong said, her amethyst eyes soft but with a subtle hint of danger.
If the Star Luo Royal Family harmed Jue, she would not show mercy.
Qian Renxue, sharing the same protective thoughts, let out a slight smile.
For Jue, what did it matter if a holy angel had to get her hands dirty?
“Senior Brother!”
Hu Liena suddenly raised her hand, holding her tea with a curious expression.
“You haven’t mentioned how you plan to handle the Star Luo Royal Family.”
“Of course, it’s with this…” Qian Renjue pointed to the purple-black mark on his forehead.
“Evil God's Heart?” Hu Liena seemed to understand; her brother was biding his time to perfect the abilities from the Evil God’s Heart.
“A divine artifact…” Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue exchanged knowing glances, understanding the power of such a weapon.
Qian Renjue smiled and lowered his hand. “Alright, let’s talk about something else for now.”
“Right.” Bibi Dong nodded, more interested now in Qian Renxue’s God Trials. She took Qian Renxue’s arm and asked,
“Xiao Xue, you finished the first trial, didn’t you? What did the your grandpa mean by ‘tying up loose ends’ outside the Douluo Hall?”
At this, Qian Renxue’s smile faded, showing a trace of frustration.
“It’s just an after-effect of the first trial,” she said softly.
“Everything my nine clones experienced, I felt as well. Grandpa’s idea of ‘tying up loose ends’ means traveling to process those experiences and to regain inner peace.”
“I see,” Bibi Dong replied, relieved, understanding how seeing such pain and cruelty might leave her daughter unstable.
“Then I’ll go with you, Sister, to help wrap things up,” Qian Renjue suggested. “My soul bone skills will make travel much faster.”
“Of course, I was already planning to bring you,” Qian Renxue replied with a playful glance.
“Miss Xue, I’d like to help too!” Hu Liena chimed in excitedly, lifting her hand.
Qian Renxue smiled approvingly, grasping Qian Renjue’s hand before looking at Hu Liena.
“Alright. But you’re a Soul King now, aren’t you? If not, I might have to pull out my sword.”
Eyes wide with a bit of nervousness, Hu Liena quickly said,
“Yes, Miss Xue! I’m at level fifty-two now.”
“Well done.” Qian Renxue smiled, satisfied with her progress.
As Bibi Dong observed her children and disciple, she felt a quiet warmth.
The gentle breeze brushed their hair as the setting sun cast a golden glow over the lotus pond.
Noticing the time, she softly tucked a strand of hair behind Qian Renxue’s ear.
“Xiao Xue, why don’t you all sit here? I’ll go prepare dinner.”
“Okay,” Qian Renxue replied with a gentle smile.
“Teacher, I’ll help too,” Hu Liena added, following Bibi Dong.
Now, only Qian Renxue and Qian Renjue remained by the lotus pond.
“Jue…” Qian Renxue leaned her head against his shoulder, holding his arm with a soft voice.
Qian Renjue stayed silent, letting her rest against him, inhaling the faint fragrance and listening to her soothing voice.
“Jue, have you been good while I was away, or have you been running around with other women?” she asked gently.
“Of course not!” Qian Renjue replied firmly. It was the truth; apart from Zhu Zhuqing, his sister already knew the other women around him—there were no “new favorites.”
“Is that so… But have you had any real… progress with them?” Qian Renxue asked, her voice soft and slightly tinged with blush.
“Tell me honestly… have you… gotten closer?”
“Uh—” Qian Renjue’s face flushed, feeling awkward. Was this really something he could discuss with Qian Renxue?
“Hmm?” She held his arm tighter, applying a little pressure as she looked at him intently, a faint coldness in her golden-purple eyes.
“Jue, are you trying to hide something from me?”
“No, I’m just… not sure how to say it…”
“Just tell me the truth,” Qian Renxue said, her expression turning icy.
“Tell me who it is. Who dared act so bold even before they’ve married in?”
“Sister, you’re misunderstanding!” Qian Renjue replied hastily.
“We haven’t done anything serious; we’ve just grown a bit closer…”
Seeing his discomfort, Qian Renxue realized her reaction might have been too harsh and softened her tone.
“Then why do you look like it’s so hard to explain?”
“Well… it’s just not something easy to describe.”
Qian Renjue’s face grew even redder, knowing he couldn’t tell her that he’d already come close with Ling Yuan.
“Alright, I was too blunt,” Qian Renxue sighed, understanding more than he said.
She figured Bibi Dong likely knew more, so she’d find an appropriate time to inquire from her mother. After all, she wanted to see which enchantress was trying to seduce him.
“Jue, don’t be upset.”
“Not at all, Sister,” he replied softly.
