343. Extermination

Hundreds of pitch-black bolts of lightning rained down, causing the ground to crack and mud to fly.

The wolf bandits near Qian Renjue either trembled or fainted, while others started to back away.

“Ling Yuan!” Qian Renjue's cold voice called, and before the words fully landed, he vanished from sight.

A fierce, resounding screech echoed across the mountain as Ling Yuan soared in the sky, her fiery wings outstretched.

Thousands of blazing feathers fell like rain upon the wolf bandits. The gray-furred bandits had no chance, igniting instantly.

Some of the green-furred wolf bandits, however, were larger and more wolf-like, their bodies glowing faintly with a green light that protected them from the flames and concealed their presence.

Ah Yin’s Blue Silver Domain covered the forest, awakening the Blue Silver Grass, which began to grow wildly within a hundred-meter radius, wrapping around the wolf bandits.

Qian Renjue and Qian Renxue descended into the densest cluster of wolf bandits, like tigers among sheep.

They didn’t even need their full spirit power to eliminate them with ease.

The bandits that escaped the grasp of the Blue Silver Grass pounced on Qian Renxue, but her rotating angel blades sliced through them instantly.

With a flash of golden light, a blood mist erupted in the air as the wolf bandits were shredded into pieces.

Her Sacred Flame Sword flared, igniting seven or eight bandits in a single sweep, purging them completely.

Although the green wolf bandits had wind manipulation and partial intangibility, they were still no match for Qian Renxue, who simply struck a few extra times to vanquish them.

Hu Liena, holding her dagger, was also carving through a smaller group of bandits.

Noticing her from a distance, Qian Renxue reminded her, “Nana, watch out for the green ones.”

“Understood, Nana understands,” Hu Liena replied. Just then, a green wolf bandit behind her suddenly accelerated, its body blurring as it lunged at her exposed back.

It had timed the attack well, just as Hu Liena had finished off two gray wolf bandits and left an opening.

However, Hu Liena was far more capable than she seemed. Her delicate earlobe twitched, and as she turned, she flung her dagger behind her.

Strangely, the green wolf bandit, just about to be struck by the dagger, suddenly froze in mid-air, as if an unseen wind force held it back.

Its massive body arched, and its front paws joined overhead to form a green energy blade, two meters long, which it prepared to bring down on her.

But it met her intense scarlet gaze. A pink demonic fox appeared faintly around Hu Liena as her first and fifth spirit rings lit up.

The green wolf bandit remained frozen in mid-air, and Hu Liena’s lips curled into a cold smile. A black iron box appeared in her hand, its clasp glowing.

Click!

Sixteen black needles shot out, each hitting the wolf bandit’s vital points.

The sound of arrows piercing flesh echoed as the green wind aura around the wolf dissipated, and within moments, the immobilized wolf bandit fell to the ground, dead.

Elsewhere, Ling Yuan and Ah Yin had finished off the remaining isolated wolf bandits. Only a few injured bandits remained, howling on the ground.

Qian Renxue’s angel blades flew through the air, striking each one down with lethal precision, ending the fight.

The largest of the green wolf bandits crept silently, its fully green eyes fixed on Qian Renji as it prepared to strike him from behind.

Under the eerie green glow from its full sprint, it almost seemed transparent.

Unlike the other green wolf bandits, it didn’t attack with claws but, instead, opened its mouth just three meters from Qian Renjue and released a green ring of light aimed straight at him.

Qian Renjue had already sensed its approach and disappeared instantly from his spot.

The green ring passed through where he had just been, engulfing two other wolf bandits nearby.

Their bodies glowed faintly green, and in moments, they began to convulse violently, blood and even internal organs spewing out before they collapsed, dead.

Qian Renjue reappeared right above the green wolf bandit, wielding a pitch-black ice sword radiating chilling energy.

He struck down with cold sword energy directly at the wolf bandit. It reacted swiftly, its affinity with wind allowing it to partially evade, though it lost an arm in the process and let out a pained howl.

Only its incredible resilience saved it from freezing solid like others would have.

Leaving an afterimage and its severed arm behind, the green wolf bandit circled to Qian Renjue's side.

Its muscles swelled grotesquely, and its green eyes turned red as it charged at him, seemingly out of control.

“Heh.” Qian Renjue sneered, a mocking look on his pale face. “It wouldn’t be polite not to return the favor.”

Before he finished speaking, the green wolf bandit let out a terrified howl.

It found itself immobilized by an invisible spatial force as Qian Renjue's silver hair fluttered, and his fifth spirit ring activated.

A black barrier enveloped the bandit, whose powerful body began to crumble under the oppressive black force, breaking into fragments of black ice that fell to the ground.

Qian Renjue glanced around at the remaining wolf bandits, nearly all defeated. His silver hair turned golden as he withdrew his spirit form.

“Senior Brother, are you okay?!” Hu Liena rushed over, immediately reaching out to check Qian Renjue for injuries.

He poked her forehead, slightly exasperated, “You’re the one who should be worried about yourself!”

“Ouch!” Hu Liena held her forehead, looking up with flushed cheeks. “Then… maybe you should check on me instead.”

“Oh, I’d be happy to,” Qian Renxue’s icy voice approached from behind, “with my Sacred Sword.”

“Ah—!” Hu Liena shrieked, turning pale as her embarrassment was replaced by alarm. She had completely forgotten that Miss Xue had returned and was right behind her.

Spinning around, Hu Liena frantically waved her hands, explaining, “Miss Xue, I didn’t mean it! I was just joking with Senior Brother…”
