Xiao Wu buried her head, gently nibbling on her vanilla cake. She whispered softly, a bit timid.
“Your Highness… why is Little Grass looking at me like that?”
“Haha,” Qian Renjue chuckled, glancing at her.
“Where do you think all that food you’re eating comes from?!”
Ah Yin’s beautiful eyes held a hint of annoyance as she shot a glare at the mischievous little rabbit who used to always tease her.
“Hmph! Silly rabbit!”
“Ah—don’t call me silly!” Xiao Wu mustered her courage, raising her head to protest against Ah Yin.
“Alright, you two, stop arguing,” Qian Renjue interjected, putting an end to their bickering.
He lifted his hand and gently adjusted Ah Yin’s body, his fingertips brushing against her soft skin.
Ah Yin’s eyes, which had been filled with resentment, softened as her body trembled slightly, her face turning pink.
Xiao Wu’s rosy eyes filled with envy as she pouted in dissatisfaction.
Why was that?!
They both grew up under the care of His Highness, living together since they were young.
When she was still a rabbit, Little Grass was just a sprout in a flower pot!
How did Little Grass grow up so quickly, while she was still so small, barely bigger than a baby?
Ling Yuan watched Qian Renjue’s movements, suppressing a laugh as she bit her lip.
“Master, what would you like me to do?” Ah Yin asked softly.
Qian Renjue pulled back his hand, faintly scented with Blue Silver, and leaned on his hand, giving instructions.
“First, use your spirit skill to disguise yourself.”
“Yes~” Ah Yin nodded, her face flushed.
Her third spirit skill, Blend with Light and Dust, was a disguise ability. With the Blue Silver Domain, she could even turn invisible.
Under Xiao Wu’s fascinated gaze, Ah Yin’s delicate features transformed to appear more ordinary, and even her clothes took on a faded, leaf-like color.
Once the transformation was complete, Ah Yin retained her bust and elegance.
Her face was plain but noble, and she wore a conservative, pale-yellow dress that covered all of her skin.
“Master, is this acceptable?”
“No problem,” Qian Renjue replied with a smile, instructing Ah Yin, “Once Xiao Wu finishes eating, take her out for a walk. Spend some quality time together. Got it, you two?”
Meeting Qian Renjue’s gaze, Xiao Wu nodded eagerly. “I understand!”
“Don’t worry, Master, I’ll take good care of this silly rabbit,” Ah Yin replied obediently, ignoring Xiao Wu’s puffed-up expression.
Qian Renjue laughed softly, reminding her, “And don’t bully her too much.”
“I’ll try~” Ah Yin responded with a smirk, still wanting to tease the little bunny a bit.
“Alright then!” Qian Renjue trusted that Ah Yin would be mindful, as they’d known each other for many years.
“Xiao Wu, enjoy your food,” he said.
“Okay!” Xiao Wu nodded, continuing to munch on her vanilla cake with a huff, as if she were chewing on Ah Yin herself.
Ah Yin quietly sat down by the table, glancing over Xiao Wu with an appraising look.
Ling Yuan stood behind Qian Renjue, massaging his shoulders as she softly asked, “Your Highness, what should we do afterward? Should we lure him outside the city?”
“You’ll keep watch while I take care of him,” Qian Renjue said calmly, shifting his leg to avoid Ah Yin’s delicate foot that was reaching out beneath the table.
Ling Yuan frowned, a bit concerned. “Your Highness, please let me handle it instead.”
“Ling Yuan, be good and listen,” Qian Renjue said, patting her hands on his shoulders gently.
His mind was set. “It’s only Tang Hao. He was nothing back then, and he’s still nothing now!”
Just as Ah Yin’s foot almost reached him, Qian Renjue quickly caught it, glancing up to give her a warning look.
Xiao Wu looked at Ah Yin, who was blushing, not understanding what she was up to.
Before long, Xiao Wu finished eating and felt completely satisfied.
Outside, the sky had turned fully dark, though it was still early, and the streets remained well-lit.
Tang Hao, dressed in a black robe that covered him entirely, sat in a tavern, sipping his wheat beer for over half an hour.
His cloudy eyes were fixed on the inn’s entrance, watching intently.
“Have they come out?”
Under his watchful gaze, Xiao Wu emerged, holding a candied hawthorn skewer in one hand and leading a noblewoman by the other.
The woman wore an elegant pale yellow dress, exuding an aura of nobility, as they stepped onto the street and began to explore.
“Did I overthink this?” Tang Hao muttered, drinking the last few drops of his beer.
Observing their backs, he mused, “Looks like that little girl just comes from a lesser-known noble family. Just lucky to have awakened with full innate spirit power… That suits her well enough.”
Despite his words, the noblewoman’s silhouette tugged at something deep within him, stirring familiar memories and bringing a touch of redness to his eyes.
“Ah Yin…”
He slammed down his beer bottle, got up, and walked out onto the street, appearing aimless yet subtly following Xiao Wu and the noblewoman.
Meanwhile, Xiao Wu and Ah Yin stood before a small vendor’s stall run by a lower-level pineapple food soul master.
Ah Yin ordered two cups of pineapple juice, and Xiao Wu, eyeing Ah Yin’s figure from all angles, asked curiously, “Little Grass, do you have any money on you?”
“You have some, don’t you?” Ah Yin replied, taking the pineapple juices and handing one to Xiao Wu with a smile.
She added, “And I’m no longer just ‘Little Grass’—call me Qian Yin’er now.”
“But I still like calling you Little Grass,” Xiao Wu pouted, fishing out some silver coins from her Beastmaster to pay.
Accepting the pineapple juice, she lifted it to her mouth.
Ah Yin smiled slyly. “And I still like calling you Silly Bunny.”
“Pffft—” Xiao Wu sprayed out her pineapple juice in shock, her rosy eyes wide. “Don’t call me that!”
“Haha…” Ah Yin laughed, bending down to gently wipe Xiao Wu’s mouth, as Qian Renjue had instructed.
Xiao Wu glared at her, eyes flickering before they regained their steadiness, keeping her gaze fixed on Ah Yin.
At that moment, Tang Hao, cloaked in his black robe, passed behind Ah Yin. He stole a glance at her, seeming to find some solace, and continued walking forward, aimless and almost like a lost soul, until Ah Yin’s figure disappeared from his sight.
“Little Grass, are you okay? I didn’t upset you, did I?” Xiao Wu asked, noticing Ah Yin’s expression turning cold.
“It’s nothing, just an unpleasant presence,” Ah Yin replied, pinching Xiao Wu’s cheek as her coldness gradually faded.
“You can head back now,” Qian Renjue’s voice suddenly resonated in Xiao Wu and Ah Yin’s ears as if coming from a great distance.
In the purple-black Evil God's Heart, Qian Renjue, with Ling Yuan at his side, followed behind Tang Hao, passing by Ah Yin and Xiao Wu as they headed in the opposite direction.
“Come on, Silly Bunny,” Ah Yin said, taking Xiao Wu’s hand. “Tell me what school’s like as we walk back.”
“Enough with the silly stuff! I’m really smart now!” Xiao Wu protested playfully.
After a quarter-hour, Tang Hao arrived at the wall of Notting Academy. Finally alone, the area empty of people, a purple-black glow descended upon him.
