191. Sneaking Rat

“No way! You’re not allowed to leave!”

The white-haired old lady clung tightly to his sleeve, making Uchiha Gin feel a headache coming on.

Why was she latching onto him now?

“You’re already dead, why worry so much?”

From their first meeting, Uchiha Gin sensed that the white-haired old lady was a spiritual consciousness parasitizing the Tenseigan Eye.

Her true identity seemed to be an Otsutsuki clan member who had sacrificed herself for the Byakugan.

“No way! If you take the Tenseigan, what will happen to Tsukihime?”

The old lady was resolute. As a consciousness residing within the Tenseigan, she could sense that the ownership of the eye had already changed.

This treasure of the Otsutsuki clan had, as of moments ago, ceased to belong to them.

Feeling irritated by her interruption, Uchiha Gin had to give up on calling Otsutsuki Hamura for help and asked with a hint of helplessness.

“Who exactly are you?”

“I am the former head of the Otsutsuki clan and Tsukihime’s mentor.”

Upon hearing his question, the old lady straightened her posture, adjusted the creases in her robe with a dignified expression, and introduced herself loudly.

“Oh, so it's the former clan head. My apologies.”

Uchiha Gin responded with a few polite but insincere words, which made the white-haired old lady grit her teeth in anger.

But, out of respect for the Tenseigan, she held back.

“Ahem... The Tenseigan is the Otsutsuki clan’s most treasured item. Please return it.”

After their recent interactions, the old lady realized that Uchiha Gin was no ordinary person.

His strange white eyes emitted a mysterious aura, not inferior to the Tenseigan. She vaguely recalled similar references in ancient texts of her clan, though much of it was too long ago to fully remember.

“Sorry, but your current intentions are a bit extreme. When you calm down, I’ll consider returning the Tenseigan.”

Why would he return a prize he’d already obtained?

Besides, if he returned it to the Otsutsuki clan, who had plans to activate the Tenseigan and crash it into Earth, wouldn’t he just become complicit in their scheme?

“What extreme intentions? I don’t know anything about that.”

After hearing Uchiha Gin's explanation, the white-haired old lady looked baffled.

Tsukihime would visit her regularly, but she’d never mentioned any earth-shattering plan.

“Hah~ Stop playing dumb. I’m well aware of your secret plan.”

Uchiha Gin sneered at her, ready to expose their scheme.

“Huh?”

“Stop pretending. You Otsutsuki plan to activate the Tenseigan and crash the Moon and Earth together!”

The old lady’s acting was impressive. Had his uncle ancestor not informed him beforehand, his pure-hearted self would have been easily fooled by her.

“What?!?”

The white-haired old lady’s mind went blank. She’d never heard of this plan.

Although there was another secret plan related to Earth, it was nothing like what he described.

After a tense silence, two shadows quickly rushed in.

One of the figures, seeing Uchiha Gin standing in front of the Tenseigan, exclaimed with joy but then asked in confusion:

“Master Gin! Uh... why are you here?”

The newcomers were Otsutsuki Akemi and Otsutsuki Tsukihime, who had just been locked in a fierce battle.

After sensing an issue with the Tenseigan, they’d immediately set aside their personal grievances and rushed to the hiding place of their clan’s treasured item to check on it.

With the Tenseigan's power lost, Otsutsuki Tsukihime, brought up to the artificial moon by a winged Otsutsuki Akemi, had rushed in, ignoring their post-battle appearance, covered in dust and with torn clothing.

“Pfft! Cough, cough... I didn’t realize how open the Otsutsuki clan’s customs were. Thanks for the hospitality~”

Hearing his name called, Uchiha Gin turned his head in confusion.

But before he could answer, the surprising scene in front of him filled his nose with a sudden rush of blood.

Two streams of blood spurted from his nostrils, stunning everyone present.

“Ah!~~~” x2

The two women, seeing Uchiha Gin lying on the ground with a nosebleed, looked at each other in confusion, not understanding his reaction.

But as their gaze lowered to see each other’s torn clothing, they gasped, crouching down to cover themselves, their faces turning crimson.

“This is so embarrassing!”

Otsutsuki Tsukihime, usually so composed in public, was filled with shame and frustration at her disheveled state. She could only grit her teeth and mutter through clenched teeth.

“Master Gin, why are you here?”

Compared to the embarrassed Tsukihime, Otsutsuki Akemi, who already had her heart set, was more composed.

After a brief moment of embarrassment, she stood up, using her arms to cover herself, a look of confusion on her face as she softly asked why Uchiha Gin was here.

“Tsukihime, Akemi, this man has taken the Tenseigan!” As Uchiha Silver was gathering his thoughts, the white-haired old lady spoke out to the two women.

“Is that true, teacher?”

Forgetting her embarrassment, Otsutsuki Tsukihime stood up, her chakra surging. Blue-green light glowed around her pale skin, her Byakugan filled with caution as she coldly eyed Uchiha Gin, whose nose was still bleeding.

“As I thought, my guess was right. This man is nothing but a despicable thief!”

“Hmph! So he’s a repeat offender, Tsukihime. What other treasures of the clan has he stolen? Tell me quickly!”

Upon hearing her disciple’s words, the white-haired elder’s eyes lit up. This kid thought he could deceive her?

She’d reveal his true nature! She quickly pressed her disciple for answers.

“He also stole my…”

Otsutsuki Tsukihime, who had been speaking confidently, suddenly faltered under her mentor’s expectant gaze. Her tone softened, her eyes became evasive, and she hesitated slightly.

“What is it? Hurry up and say it!”

The white-haired elder urged her shy disciple impatiently.

“Phew~ Good thing I had a handkerchief, or I might have bled out by now.”

As the master and disciple conversed, Uchiha Gin pulled a small, bunny marked “handkerchief” from his bag, pressing it against his nose as he inhaled its delightful fragrance, getting momentarily lost in it.

Curious about where to buy one, he asked Tsukihime, whose face was flushed red:

“Clan leader, where did you get the perfume on your handkerchief? I’d like to buy some to take home.”

“Ahhh!”

Seeing Uchiha Gin's genuine curiosity and the little bunny on his face, Tsukihime felt a wave of heat rush to her head. Her pale face instantly turned as red as an apple.

Losing her composure, she rolled her eyes and fainted in frustration and anger.

“Tsukihime! Tsukihime! Are you okay?”

The white-haired elder sensed that while Tsukihime’s heart rate was elevated, she hadn’t suffered any physical harm. So why did she suddenly pass out?

Confused, she glanced at the stranger with red eyes. A terrifying thought came to her mind. Shakily, she pointed a trembling finger at Uchiha Gin, who looked completely innocent, and accused him bitterly:

“You despicable man! You must have used genjutsu to knock her out. I knew there was something off about this red-eyed boy!”

Hey, hey, hey, just a moment ago you were calling me handsome!

How did you change your mind so quickly?

Uchiha Gin, who found himself blamed for no reason, rolled his eyes helplessly. Facing the white-haired elder’s accusation, he immediately declared his intention to clear his name.

“Clan elder, Master Gin isn’t like that.”

Otsutsuki Akemi stood up to defend Uchiha Gin, her eyes gentle yet seductive. Her gaze made the normally confident Gin uneasy.

“Master Gin, you still haven’t answered me—why are you here?”

After staring at him for a while, making him sweat, Otsutsuki Akemi finally asked.

“Uh… if I said I got lost, would you believe me?”

Feeling flustered under her gaze, Uchiha Akemi scratched his head awkwardly, cautiously posing the question.

“I believe you.”

Otsutsuki Akemi responded swiftly, with a look of absolute trust in her eyes.

“Fine, fine… Actually, my goal from the start was the Tenseigan.”

With a sigh, Uchiha Gin decided to be honest, since he’d already obtained the Tenseigan.

“So it was all a lie?”

A moment of silence passed. Otsutsuki Akemi looked up, her beautiful white eyes shimmering as if with unshed tears.

“Huh?”

The question caught Uchiha Gin off guard. He didn’t understand what she was referring to.

“What you said to me before,” Otsutsuki Akemi clarified, her eyes filled with a heart-wrenching emptiness.

“Oh, that! I meant every word from the bottom of my heart!”

Uchiha Gin recalled his interactions with her, realizing that aside from hiding his identity, he hadn’t lied to her. He nodded sincerely.

Hearing his resolute tone, Otsutsuki Akemi gathered her courage. She looked at the white-haired elder, her expression shifting from apology to determination. With a steady voice, she addressed everyone present, revealing her true intentions:

“I’m sorry, clan elder. I think I’m going to defect.”
