464. Sharing Room

It was late at night.

Zhu Zhuqing and the others had no idea about the intense battle that had unfolded in the small forest.

In Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong’s dormitory, whispers could be heard.

"Xiao Wu, why did you play dead today?"

Lying under the covers, Ning Rongrong sounded puzzled.

"I noticed that Tang San clearly cares a lot about you. Why would you trick him like that?"

"Hmph! I don’t care about his concern," Xiao Wu huffed, clutching the crimson bead hanging around her neck and pouting.

"Why not?" Ning Rongrong asked, confused.

"Ah, Rongrong, I can’t tell you. Just think of it as a test for him," Xiao Wu replied, too afraid to reveal the real reason.

"Fine," Ning Rongrong said casually. She wasn’t interested in meddling in others’ affairs anyway.

Besides, Tang San’s hidden weapons had made her cautious. Clearly, he wasn’t under her Holy Son brother’s influence—his spirit rings and cultivation level were the evidence.

"By the way, Rongrong, I have a question for you too," Xiao Wu said, turning to kneel on the bed with her blanket wrapped around her, her round crimson eyes staring at Ning Rongrong.

"Go ahead," Ning Rongrong replied, closing her eyes. Her tone was casual, though her thoughts had drifted far away.

Xiao Wu hesitated for a moment, biting her lip before whispering,
"Are you connected to Spirit Hall?"

“?!”

Ning Rongrong’s eyes snapped open, shock flashing through them.

"What are you talking about? I’m from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan."

"Are you really?" Xiao Wu frowned. Her instincts told her that both Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing had been sent by Qian Renxue!

"Of course. Why would you think otherwise?" Ning Rongrong asked cautiously, testing the waters.

"I just think your cultivation is unusually high for someone from outside," Xiao Wu said softly, her intelligent eyes blinking.

"…"

Ning Rongrong was even more astonished.

Seeing her silence, Xiao Wu didn’t push further.

"If you’re not, then forget it. I was just asking casually. But Rongrong, you have to keep this between us, okay?"

"I will," Ning Rongrong nodded.

She knew perfectly well what Xiao Wu was asking her to keep secret.

The room fell silent.

Ning Rongrong, lying in bed, stared at the blanket covering Xiao Wu, her thoughts racing.

Could she have stumbled into a plan laid out by Brother Holy Son?

Meanwhile, Xiao Wu hid under her blanket.

Although Ning Rongrong had denied it, Xiao Wu could tell from Ning Rongrong’s closeness to Zhu Zhuqing that her suspicions were likely true.

Staring at the golden collar around her neck, Xiao Wu hesitated but chose not to act further.

It was late. If she disturbed Miss Xue or Holy Son’s mom, she’d probably be dragged back and cooked.

---

In Oscar’s room.

Tang San lay on his bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

It wasn’t because of his injuries—he’d already eaten Oscar’s healing sausages earlier.

It was because of Zhu Zhuqing’s actions.

Her mastery of techniques such as Mysterious Jade Hand, Purple Demon Eye, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and even her use of hidden weapons—many of which Tang San had never seen before—kept troubling him.

"Who is she?"

Tang San’s mind was in turmoil, mixed with a faint sense of fear.

The memories of the Tang Sect from his past life had always been his greatest reliance in this world.

But Zhu Zhuqing’s appearance shook his confidence, making him feel unsafe.

"Damn it! Tomorrow, I’ll confront her and get to the bottom of this. If she can’t explain…"

"Stealing the Tang Sect’s secrets is a crime punishable by death!"

Tang San stared out the window as the night deepened and the horizon began to brighten, his eyes bloodshot.

As the night came to an end, the window of Zhao Wuji’s room creaked open.

With dark bruises around his eyes, Zhao Wuji looked around cautiously as a bird slowly flew toward Soto City.

—————————

Knock, Knock!

Before dawn broke, while everyone was still fast asleep in the rugged mountains, a gentle knock sounded at the door of Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu’s dormitory.

“Ah! Who is it?”

Ning Rongrong groaned, pulling her pillow over her head, her tone filled with annoyance.

“It’s me, Zhu Zhuqing,” came a cool, calm voice from outside.

“Zhuqing?”

Half-asleep, Ning Rongrong frowned and turned to call the nearer Xiao Wu.

“Xiao Wu, go open the door.”

Knock, Knock!

The knocking came again, but there was no movement from Xiao Wu under the blankets.

Frustrated, Ning Rongrong bit her lip.

“All right, I’m coming!”

Dragging herself out of bed, she donned a light outfit—short shorts and a crop top—before heading to the door. Hiding her body behind it, she poked her head out.

Seeing Zhu Zhuqing standing there with the dim sky behind her, Ning Rongrong sighed, “Zhuqing, what brings you here so early?”

“I’m going to stay here,” Zhu Zhuqing said curtly as she stepped inside and closed the door behind her.

“What? Stay here? But—”

Ning Rongrong, hugging herself in surprise, was about to object when she froze mid-sentence.

Thud!

With a muffled sound, a single bed appeared in front of her.

Zhu Zhuqing, without hesitation, bent down and pushed Ning Rongrong’s bed aside, then moved on to Xiao Wu’s.

“Huh?”

The blanket on Xiao Wu’s bed shifted as she poked her head out, rubbing her eyes.

“Rongrong, what’s going on?”

“Zhuqing says she’s moving in with us,” Ning Rongrong replied, pointing to Zhu Zhuqing, who was now pushing her bed.

“Moving in with us?”

Still half-asleep, Xiao Wu was too groggy to grasp the situation.

After pushing the other two beds aside, Zhu Zhuqing placed her own bed squarely between theirs. Turning to the two girls, she said seriously, “I’ll protect you.”

With that, she headed to the bathroom.

“I’m going to take a shower. You two can go back to sleep for now. Let’s have breakfast together later.”

Click!

The bathroom door closed behind her.

Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu exchanged glances, both filled with suspicion.

“Rongrong, are you sure you’re not connected to Spirit Hall?”

“…”

Faced with Xiao Wu’s probing question, Ning Rongrong didn’t deny it this time.

“Hehe.”

Without a clear answer, Xiao Wu wasn’t in a rush. Her mischievous gaze landed on Ning Rongrong’s legs as she teased, “Rongrong, your legs are so white!”

“Hmph! You little pervert!” Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes before diving back under her blanket.

With an extra bed in the room, the space now felt cramped.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Zhu Zhuqing let her black hair cascade down her back as she gently washed herself. Her fingers brushed over the black six-winged pendant nestled at her chest, the warm water running over its surface.

Her cold, sharp eyes held a hint of confusion.

How long until the trip to the Star Dou Forest to hunt spirit beasts?

How did my teacher know?

“Zhuqing~”

Before long, Zhu Zhuqing emerged from the bathroom, fully dressed and ready. Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu were both staring at her expectantly.

“What’s wrong?” Zhu Zhuqing asked softly.

Ning Rongrong bit her lip and sat up, asking hesitantly, “Your teacher… is he the Holy Son of Spirit Hall?”

“The Holy Son?!”

Xiao Wu couldn’t hold back her shock as she stared at Zhu Zhuqing in astonishment.

Ning Rongrong was certain now—both of these girls were closely tied to her Holy Son brother.

“…”

Zhu Zhuqing frowned slightly, unsure if she should answer.

“Ahaha…”

Ning Rongrong let out a playful laugh.

She was now almost certain—she was Zhu Zhuqing’s future sister-in-law!

But soon, a sense of looming threat crept over her.

Zhu Zhuqing is… too well-endowed!

Could it be that Holy Son Brother took her as a disciple because of… those dazzling mountains?
