Oscar's peach blossom eyes gleamed as he whispered a suggestion to Ning Rongrong:
"Rongrong, if you want to fit into Shrek, you need to prove it through your actions."
"Prove that you belong to Shrek!"
"Huh?" Ning Rongrong tilted her head in confusion, staring at Oscar like he’d lost his mind.
What’s wrong with this guy? Why on earth would I need to prove I belong to Shrek Academy?
Does he think this rundown academy is some sort of rare treasure?
Before Ning Rongrong could reply, Dai Mubai and the others were already about to clash with the students from Blue Sunshine Academy.
Meanwhile, the dishes ordered by Qian Renxue and her brother finally arrived. The waiter set the food down and politely reminded Tang San’s table:
"Dear guests, this establishment is under the protection of the Commerce Alliance—"
Before the waiter could finish, Qian Renjue interrupted, instructing,
"You can leave now."
"Uh, sir, I was just—" The waiter hesitated but stopped when he noticed the enforcement token from the Commerce Alliance lying on Qian Renjue's table. His demeanor shifted to one of respect and excitement as he bowed slightly.
"Enjoy your meal."
Dai Mubai and his group froze in place, while Ye Zhiqiu quickly regained his senses, his face pale with fear.
The silence was broken by Ye Zhiqiu’s panicked shout:
"Stop! Everyone, stop immediately!"
The students of Blue Sunshine Academy were bewildered, glancing at their teacher in confusion.
Sweat beaded on Ye Zhiqiu’s forehead as he recalled the rules of the Spirit Master world. His martial soul was the Mysterious Turtle, which made him naturally cautious. Yet, in his earlier rage, he had completely overlooked the fact that this restaurant was protected by Spirit Hall.
He knew well that offending the wrong people could bring disaster—not just to him but to his academy, family, and friends.
This is the reality of the Spirit Master world, he thought grimly.
"Boss Dai, what’s going on? Why did they suddenly back off?" Ma Hongjun asked, amused.
"Heh, because they’re cowards, obviously," Dai Mubai replied mockingly.
However, an unfamiliar voice cut through the room, prompting Dai Mubai to look toward its source.
"Dear brother, can we make them shut up now?"
Qian Renxue’s voice carried a cold arrogance and disdain.
"Of course," Qian Renjue chuckled, his tone light. "Didn’t I send the waiter away just so you could vent, dear sister?"
"..."
Their conversation echoed clearly in the room. Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun exchanged confused looks but couldn’t help understanding the veiled insults directed at them.
"You two shady individuals, you’d better stay out of this!" Dai Mubai scowled, issuing a warning.
Zhu Zhuqing and Xiao Wu exchanged puzzled glances. For some reason, these two strangers reminded them of someone familiar.
Ignoring the tension, Qian Renxue casually picked up her chopsticks and said,
"Brother, you handle that fat chicken. I don’t want to get oil on my hands."
As she spoke, she placed a piece of chicken on Qian Renjue's plate.
"No problem. I’ll hold back a little so they can still hunt spirits later," Qian Renzhi replied nonchalantly.
Ma Hongjun’s face darkened; he hated being called a chicken. Pointing angrily at the siblings, he shouted:
"You two—"
"Ah—!"
Before he could finish, a scream echoed as Ma Hongjun was sent flying, disappearing in an instant.
The restaurant fell into stunned silence.
Drip!
Blood from Ma Hongjun, left suspended in the air, finally splattered onto the ground, some of it landing on Dai Mubai and Tang San’s faces.
"How disgusting," Qian Renjue remarked calmly, drawing everyone’s attention.
Dai Mubai and Tang San stood frozen, their eyes filled with fear as they stared at the siblings. They hadn’t even seen how Qian Renjue had moved before Ma Hongjun was struck.
Even Zhao Wuji, watching from the second floor, had a serious expression on his face.
Gulp.
The sound of swallowing was the only noise in the room.
Is Fatty okay?
That was the shared thought running through Dai Mubai and Oscar’s minds.
Several breaths later, a pained groan echoed from the open space outside the restaurant.
"Dear sister, just follow my lead and use this level of force," Qian Renjue advised casually.
"No problem," Qian Renxue replied softly, nodding slightly. Her cold gaze swept toward Dai Mubai and his group, sending a chill through the air.
"Wait! You—" Dai Mubai’s alarm bells rang loudly in his mind, but before he could finish speaking, he felt as if a horse had slammed into his face.
"Ahh!"
A blood-curdling scream echoed through the restaurant as his figure vanished without a trace.
The others barely had time to react before two more were taken down in rapid succession.
Tang San stood frozen in shock, but it was clear his turn was inevitable.
"Go keep them company outside," Qian Renxue said coldly, her suppressed killing intent evident in her voice.
"Respected seniors, I—" Tang San tried to say something, but before he could finish, a fierce wind struck his face.
"Wait!" Zhao Wuji’s shout came from the second floor, but his plea was answered only by Tang San’s agonized scream.
"Tang San!"
Silence once again enveloped the restaurant.
Qian Renjue tapped the enforcement token lightly on the table, his gaze sweeping toward the Blue Sunshine Academy students.
"This is the consequence of causing trouble in a Commerce Alliance-affiliated establishment," he stated icily.
Ye Zhiqiu and his students turned pale, cold sweat dripping from their foreheads.
"W-We understand," Ye Zhiqiu stammered, trembling as he responded.
"Is that so?!"
Qian Renjue suddenly turned his gaze toward Xiao Wu, who had one foot propped up on the table.
Her body froze instantly, and the mischievous expression on her face disappeared in a flash.
"Uh... well, I-I was just stretching a bit... sitting for so long made me tired," Xiao Wu said nervously, forcing an awkward smile.
Under Qian Renjue's intense gaze, she quickly retracted her foot, bowed her head, and sheepishly wiped the table clean.
"Ahaha!" Ning Rongrong, who had been startled moments ago, couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Even Zhu Zhuqing’s lips curled into a faint smile; the scene was undeniably amusing.
Of everyone present, only Ning Rongrong laughed so freely.
"Behave yourself, little rabbit," Qian Renjue said softly, his tone almost teasing.
Hearing this, Xiao Wu raised her head slightly, blinking in confusion and suspicion, unsure of what to make of the situation.
By now, Zhao Wuji had hurried downstairs, his expression dark as he glared at the Qian siblings.
"Don’t you think you’ve gone too far?" he said gravely.
"You watched for so long; you had the chance to stop them," Qian Renjue replied calmly, turning his attention away from Xiao Wu.
"But you didn’t seize it."
"Exactly," Qian Renxue added with a smirk, clearly in high spirits after the fight. Xiao Wu’s earlier reaction had also amused her.
Her lips moved slightly as she used voice transmission to speak to Zhao Wuji, leaving him visibly startled and at a loss for words.
"What’s wrong? Do you plan to let them lie there until morning?" Qian Renxue prompted with a light reminder.
Zhao Wuji snapped out of his thoughts, nodding hastily. His gaze darted around the room before settling on Oscar.
"Oscar! Quickly, go check on Dai Mubai and the others!"
"R-Right, okay!" Oscar stammered, dropping the sausage in his hand, which he had unknowingly crushed out of fear. Trembling slightly, he ran outside to assess the situation.
