At All Costs

Angelina Johnson has just one year to win the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup as captain to cement her chances of a professional career, and she intends to win. She pushes the team harder than ever, heedless of the struggles they’re facing under a ministry-controlled curriculum. When Harry finally reaches his breaking point and threatens to quit the team, Angelina’s friends step in to give her a much-needed talking to. They remind her of the struggles and stress that he’s under and that he’s the best Seeker in a century. They tell her she would be foolish to let him leave the team.

Angelina takes the conversation to heart, but not in the way her teammates expected. If Harry was too stressed to play to his full potential, then she’d just have to find a way to relieve that stress so he could perform. She gets more than she bargained for. Harry is much more needy and forceful than she expected. But it’s nothing she can’t handle. After all, she’s going to become a professional Quidditch player at all costs.

The Magic Quill

Hermione finds a small, magical shop hidden in the Alps when she goes skiing over Christmas break with her parents. In it, she meets an old woman who sells her a handful of valuable books. While perusing the shelves, she decides to get Harry and Ron their Christmas presents. For Ron, she gets him a book about making magical sweets, hoping he could turn his gluttony into a passion for learning. And for Harry, she finds an old quill whose feather reminds her of Hedwig. The old woman wouldn’t tell her much about it, only that it was special and should only be used by those trusted to wield great power. It isn’t much to look at, but it would go nicely with the journal she bought him. Privately, Hermione hoped it was enchanted to make him finish his homework on time.

Harry is grateful, though not very enthusiastic about Hermione’s present. Still, it’s the thought that counts, and he’s determined to use it. Even if only for a little bit before it inevitably gets stuffed at the bottom of this trunk, lost and forgotten. He’s not one for writing about his feelings, but he decides that putting his hopes and dreams into writing wouldn’t be so bad.

Little does he know that everything he writes will inevitably come true. And when he does learn the truth, will he be able to resist the temptation to keep using it?

(Inspired by Hogwarts Ledger by GodsShadow and might be a bit too close for comfort. May need to be tweaked before I feel comfortable writing it.)

Comments

Magic quill might be fun.

Both sound interesting, though having read ‘Hogwarts Ledger’ I would really like to hear your take on the idea!

Blackarc

At all costs please

Stormfox2

I think At All Costs might be interesting. If nothing else, what happens if Harry proves to be a bit more attached than Angelina anticipated or wanted. Then you can go back to the Magic Quill afterwards. (Why yes, I am Very selfish. Your point?)

Brian Jordan

Magic quill please

Hacura

I think At All Costs definitely is the more interesting choice. Have always wanted to see more of that pairing ever since Quaffles and Broomsticks

Morrigan Newhart

At all costs, mainly not enough Harry/Angelina stories. Magic Quill would be nice but hoping for Tonks and Angelina to get thrown in there while Harry uses the book to fix what he can of his life. Like have Voldemorts horcruxes accidentally get destroyed, Bellatrix gains her sanity while suddenly falling for Harry, silly shenanigans.

At all costs sounds interesting

Both sound good but I vote Magic Quill

Lonewolf33

Magic Quill is my vote. Though I think there should be more Harry/Angelina stories.
