I remain curious as to the final fate of a certain portrait but have great faith an appropriate end will be provided. I'm tempted to suggest it be sent to Lucius and Narcissa but it would have to be kept from saying where she stayed before that and I don't hate Narcissa enough to put her through it. Perhaps it could only be be allowed to speak when Narcissa is not in the room? No, send it to inhabit the place in hell waiting for the Dursleys. I'm sure they'll get along splendidly. I liked the bit with Mr. Olivander. His reasoning was polite and not unreasonable based on his limited knowledge and Harry's solution holds a certain distinct elegance. While curious as to who provided the hair, I think I'll wait to see if we ever find out. (Some things are best left to our imagination.) Congratulations on your first lustrum here. I gratefully look forward to many more. Thank you.

2026-02-21 08:13:13 +0000 UTCI don't think the blood wards have been moved but that a new version are now set in place at Grimmauld Place. Given that Heather is unlikely to ever return to Privet Drive - and the Dursleys should pray fervently that Harry never visits again (I don't think he really cares for them (g))- the wards there will fade out in due course. Shame about the couch though. However will Vernon and Petunia explain why they need to buy a new one? The readers will never know for sure but I'm confident they can imagine all sorts of embarrassing scenarios.
