Okay, guys... What you are looking at is art made with the help of AI. To some this might come as a surprise since I know that this can be a controversial topic. If you are not concerned by the use of AI tools I will briefly just say: Stable Diffusion is an amazing tool, I have great fun with it and it become a permanent staple in my workflow.
If you want to know more you can read all about it here. If you are concerned about it let me explain here what I mean when I say "made with the help of AI" and my personal approach.
I've been playing around with it trying to figure out if this technology can be used to help me out. I spent over two weeks figuring out a workflow that would not replace me in making images but enhance my work. This means I don't spam text2image till I get what I want. I use my own renders, and a lot of Photoshop (which I often have to do multiple times) to generate a good base on which the AI knows what to diffuse over. This means that I basically do the same thing I did until this point but then I add another step. So for context, The Cellar of Torture took over 6 hours of work and over 500 images to make it look like it does, and The Goblin 4 hours and over 400 images... This is the most work I've ever put into a single image. I make whole sets of 20 images in less than that. I don't use basic text2image, I also don't use prompts "in the style of XYZ". At their core, they are still Raz Toermentor originals and you can expect my name on them.
I know the concerns about using AI for making stuff, I did my due diligence and spent 3 days researching the topic of ethics and morality of training models on other people's art without their consent. I understand the concerns surrounding the development of AI tools such as Stable Diffusion and their potential impact on the art community. This is a difficult topic with a lot of grey areas and Iβm not here to debate it. All things considered, I still choose to use these new tools that allow me to stay excited and creative. And even thou I would completely understand that some of you might be disappointed in my decision I will be using AI art to enhance and sometimes even make whole pieces. This is still my own work, I make all the assets just like I did before... I just added an extra step to put a shiny filter to make my pieces look like I see them in my head. If some of you feel that this is a reason not to stay I completely understand and still am very grateful for every bit of support. I just want to be as transparent as I can so there is no confusion. I think AI tools are amazing and they made me want to create again... even more so than ever. I don't want to get into debates about this, I'm not the best person to do it. I'm just saying that if you are okay with the state of what I'm presenting then you'll have a lot to look forward to, and if this is a deal breaker then it's okay for me as well. I can't ignore the quality I'm able to deliver or how close I can get to the images I have in my head when I create. I'm having a lot of fun and joy, and I hope you will too.
I'm very excited about this new tool and I hope you will like what I have in store now.
Thank you so very much for all the support. You guys are the best!
