August Update: Live Shows, Live Streams, and Live Monsters

Hi Friends!

Happy LGBTQ Sloth Month! (Or Lust Month, depending on whom you ask.) Thank you so much for all of your wonderful support, which makes all of this month's livestreams and videos and Sewers of Paris episodes possible. Here's what I'm bringing you in August:

Livestream on August 11: Join us at 2pm PST for another Sewers of Paris livestream! The special guest this month is horror expert Isabella Price, and we'll be talking about our favorite queer monsters, villains, and spoops. (I just rewatched Interview with the Vampire so I have a lot of thoughts about fangs right now.) August 14 - bonus episode of Sewers of Paris: I'll have another fascinating story from Beyond the Sewers of Paris! I'm so excited for this month's guest -- no spoilers, but it's someone you might recognize from another wildly popular podcast, from her comedy webseries, and the New York Times bestseller list. 

August 21 - Culture Cruise video: Set sail on another deep dive into on-screen LGBT culture! In case you missed it, check out July's video about a gay surprise on The Mary Tyler Moore Show -- and get ready for another examination of queer content on TV in August. As always, Patreon backers at the $4 level and above get early ad-free access.

Livestream on August 25: It's an open topic on this livestream, so we'll be chatting about whatever games you're playing, books you're reading, shows you're watching, and movies you're loving.

August 7: Queer Media Meetup! I co-host friendly meetups for Seattle's LGBTQ folks who work in publishing, video, comics, journalism, music, gaming, and more. If you're in the area, come say hi at our August mixer -- the theme is drag, and we'll have special guests Mama Tits, Londyn Bradshaw, and Arson Nicki there to talk about what it's like to run your own drag empire.

August 30: Queens of Adventure Live! Psssst, we haven't officially announced it yet, but we're about to stage another Queens of Adventure live comedy show -- and this time, it's a double-feature! We're teaming up with D20 Dames, a fantastic Dungeons & Dragons podcast, to bring you TWO back-to-back live shows at Kremwerk! September 1: Queens of Adventure at PAX West in Seattle! We're an official PAX panel! Come see the queens scramble through a breakneck D&D adventure, rolling the dice and slinging spells for a live audience! It's at 9:30pm on Sept 1 in the Hippogriff Theater.

September 1: Sexy or Stupid? The Great Video Game Sex Scene Debate! Ooh la la, are you ready to talk about some very sexy/stupid video games? I'll be a guest on a super-fun panel where we show our favorite sex scenes, then laugh about what works and what doesn't. It's at 7:30pm on Sept 1 in the Sandworm Theater.

Patreon Payment Checkup

One last thing: Some banks and credit cards have been unusually aggressive this month about flagging Patreon payments. That means your monthly pledge might have been declined. Here's what Patreon had to say about this on Twitter:
