September Update: Set Sail

Hello friends!

Well here we are, wrapping up (what will hopefully be) the weirdest summer of our lives -- I hope you're safe, secure, and comfortable, wherever you are.

A quick reminder that this month the rewards for new Patrons have changed.  If you joined before September 1, your level will remain the same (unless you want to change it!) and if you're a new Patron as of this month, well hey, welcome, glad to have you aboard.  ⚓️

As always, I'm tremendously grateful for all your support! Here's some of the stuff that you're making possible this month:

And although we still can't quite congregate like we used to, there are still some events happening here and there! I'll be hosting an online screening of John Waters' movie Hairspray on September 18, in partnership with MoPOP. I'm super excited for this and can't wait to talk all about how important this movie is.

But wait, there's more! The show that I co-created, Queens of Adventure, has two online events this month: We'll be hosting a panel as part of PAX 2020, featuring a team of drag heroes playing a one-shot Dungeons & Dragons (and Drag Queens) adventure! Join us for that on Wednesday, September 16 at 9:45pm pacific. And then Queens of Adventure is livestreaming an adventure on Sunday, September 20 at 3pm pacific over at twitch.tv/prettyprettypixel. Hope to see you at one of both of those!

One more thing -- I've been trying to read more novels lately, and I just wanted to give you a recommendation for one that I've really been enjoying. It's called Tigana, and it's set in a high fantasy realm where a sorcerer has magically erased all memory of a city that once opposed him. Now, a small group of people from that city are secretly working to undo his magic and restore the memory of their home. It's not an explicitly queer book (nobody's perfect) but it's a super engrossing and beautifully-written tale, and I think a lot of LGBTQ+ readers will find that the theme of longing for a place in the world resonates.

And once again, I want you to know how grateful I am to you for being a member of my Patreon in this very unpredictable time. It means so much that you believe in what I do, and I am delighted every single day that I get to make stuff for you.

Matt

PS: If you haven't already, follow me over on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram, as well as the channel I share with my partner on Twitch!

PPS: BTW if you like LGBTQ podcasts you may enjoy Queens of Adventure and Queens of Adventure: Legends, my comedy-adventure podcasts that stars drag queens playing Dungeons & Dragons. Queens of Adventure features a very fun ongoing story, and Legends features stand alone stories so it's a great place to dive in!
