In the mornings, the air is so dry I think it sucks the very moisture out of my skin. Poseidon, I pray for some rainwater to at least quench my forehead. Then again, maybe I'm better if he doesn't answer. The nights are so cold I fear I'll freeze to death if not for my warm goatskin blanket.
That said, I don't think I can sleep. The caravan tells tales of the warriors of the desert. People call them the Children of Ares, men and women birthed in the sand, bodies trained, and savage dispositions. Some laugh them off as they drink from their cheap booze, and rumbling ale jugs. I try not to listen. It only makes me more scared. I'm scared because I think I see things that aren't there, or I hope aren't.
They talk about the Xhaluters, a warrior tribe so strong that just one of them could tear an entire empire down to pieces. A king would empty his fucking coffers for the services of just one. Yet, the payment is worse. They shall take the men, rip their skulls from their heads and use them in their perverse rituals. I think it all be shit and stories told over a good fire, but somehow I hope it isn't true. I pray it isn't true even as I see the yellow eyes, sharp teeth, and mighty forms rolling over the side of the sandy dunes. Even as I hear my comrades scream firing magic and using advanced weaponry, even as they are taken down one by one, even as these towering men and women stand over me...

I hope you enjoy this new look for Nz'ia. I decided to try another one since the other one, I felt, didn't truly capture his beastman heritage. I greatly enjoyed working on this one with Nathyoo on Fiverr. I also think the bone spear was a nice touch! Unfortunately, I couldn't get a few other things done, but they are being worked on. They won't be done before the month rolls out so they'll be here early next month, promise!
