Pokemon with mixed psychic types are still treated as psychics, I would presume.

2021-05-17 05:57:57 +0000 UTCohhh, what does that mean for dark/psychic mons like malamar and hoopa? and pokemon with alternate forms/evos that are psychic? like eevee evolving into either espeon or umbreon, or kanto ponyta vs galar ponyta. same thing for alt dark forms like rattata and zigzagoon! would love to see more of this world :D

2021-05-11 12:39:24 +0000 UTCI feel like the type advantages of Pokemon allow for a plausible world setting for this type of discussion where it wouldn't make sense in the human world (some people being immune to psychic manipulation, but we don't know which ones they are unless they say so, versus Pokemon, where Dark types are all known to be resistant to any Psychic manipulation). I thought it'd be fun to explore a bit! While it's not heavily touched upon in this story politic wise, I feel like it's a universe that I can work on in future stories as well. Trust Me could probably fit in this universe comfortably.

You couldn't have said "Come make a fool of me" any more effectively. That said, it's an interesting thing to have psychic abilities mixed with politics. In the Sholan Alliance novels there's specific edicts against it and severe punishments for any psychic who misuses their abilities. In the Mistborn novels there's only emotional manipulation but a similar premise of someone running for office as being immune to it. And even settings where being a psionic is a REQUIREMENT for office! Once again you've set up a world with a ton of questions and implications in the space of a single page Grim!
