You should read Tell Me More before reading this comic. Noctua is not capable of being emotionally traumatized by sexual assault due to her programming as a police officer robot. It's likely they're programmed to mourn because it would be off-putting to an organic if someone they work with didn't express some level of sorrow for the loss of another.

Granted, it was easy to know and we do know, especially later in the TMM comic when Jonesy said she almost went through what Noc did, but it's interesting to see it from Noc's perspective, especially since you stated that as a robot she cannot be traumatized by these sorts of things. I feel like the fact that the comic presents the topic in a fetishistic manner is less ecky due to the fact Noc is a robot, not saying it makes it better... at all, rather that trauma if she was capable of having it would screw her up. After all we saw how it pushed Jonesy further into her untrusting corner among everything else. That can't really happen with Noctua.

2022-07-12 22:08:31 +0000 UTCThat makes sense! I was wondering that, since yeah we've seen them have sex for pleasure and to put people in there place a bit with aforementioned crazy robot. And with that, I wonder then if they can feel negative emotions outside of mourning or if their programming only allows mourning, if thst makes sense? Like are their emotions there but just limited OR are the negative emotions programmed in and only for certain things? If there has to be limiters, why have them at all for anything? Do they naturally feel but they're stopped from feeling? Are they just programmed to have some negstice feelings to appear more human? Just interesting stuff. Any sort of AI and programming of feelings or lack of feelings is just fascinating to me.

2022-07-12 14:45:46 +0000 UTCSol mentions it briefly near the start of TMM, all police bots are programmed to allow a brief 1 week period of mourning when a comrade dies, before their negative emotional response simply shuts off and protocol demands they move on. Lust and happiness are absolutely available to them, and we even see Sol bang another police bot to "discharge some static" after they catch the freaky masochist robot. So if I had to guess there's simply limiters placed on the negatives overall in order to keep robots functional through any kind of harm or trauma/abuse.

2022-07-12 13:52:25 +0000 UTCMaybe I missed it - but I'd love more insight on the robots in the world you made. You stste they can't feel trauma, but they still have wants and desires. And from the comic before, they definitely each had personality. Are they just programed to not feel negative or harmful emotions but still be like people in that they can have other human emotions of lust, desires, and happiness?
