So here's the story, morning glory!
I wasn't thrilled with where I landed on the wording in the previous page (for a couple small inconsequential reasons), and as I was pondering it this week, I remembered that I've been wanting to try something new soon (that I'm interested in carrying over to TOY2 as well)— which is, I really like the idea of doing 4komas like this as transitional pages between scenes.
I realized now might be a good time to kill two birds with one stone and try that new format out here, while also using it to figure out what about the previous page had bugged me. A little bit of tweaking on the timing actually made me way happier with the end result, and it set us up to make another page in the same format as we finish out this scene transition. (I really like how lighthearted these feel as they break up the chapter!)
I actually ended up feeling really happy that even though I wasn't stoked on the way this page came out to start with, it's actually really fun that you guys got to see it while I was chewing on it this week. It's always fun to share our process like this, even as it happens alongside me doubting myself/being really exhausted at the time of finalizing the page and accidentally fumbling the dialog, sometimes. Especially when I'm this happy with where I eventually landed and I got to try out something new!
I've included the before and after of the last page in this post too, if you're curious and want to compare!
Now the next page will be a full one— we'll be meeting a new face very shortly. ♥
