15:15 Muzan could destroy the demon slayers in a night but he is more interested in finding a cure for the sun. As to why he's with the family, simple answer is because he is a psychopath; he'd rather manipulate you if he can than threaten or kill you to get what he wants. Muzan is preying on the father's desire to have a child so that he can find a cure for his "skin disease." He knows the dad will do anything for a son. He probably wanted the same thing with the other family; maybe his wife was rich, desired a daughter and had a pharmaceutical company as well. Notice that's how he chooses his stronger demons too, most if not all of them have a mental or physical weakness he exploits so that they become attached or devoted to him (ex. Rui and the ball demon).
