So I didn't think of it this way when I first watched this episode, but I've seen people comment since then and I agree. The way Bakugo got tied up, muzzled and laughed at for how he handled his match with Todoroki totally made him out as a villain not just to his classmates but to the public and its super messed up looking back that I found it funny. Really thinking about it this was a super messed up way for the school to handle it. IF they were worried about Bakugo or him attacking the other people on the podium the could have announced the winners or given them more time before the awards for him to calm down or something. Even not presenting them the medals when they announced the winners would have been better. This totally ruins Bakugo's image for the public and hurts his chances of being a hero. He's Bakugo so he'll push through but hate that his school that was suppose to help him did something that made it harder on him.

2022-06-30 17:11:53 +0000 UTCIve seen reactors being confused by a translation an ep or 2 ago. When endeavor said he put shoto's mom in the hospital, he didnt beat her up into a pulp. The mom was crazy at the point (she burnt her son's face) so he sent her to a mental institute. Also shoto still has many trauma from his dad, a few sentence from midoriya isnt gonna wash away years of childhood trauma where he can just spam fire whenever. As you start to watch other animes, especially longer ones, you would realise character development are much more realistic and takes time and effort, bakugo aint chilling from 1 lost, todoroki aint washing trauma from a couple sentence, midoriya aint learning how to control his power from 1 lesson. Yall may be used to the quick paced story from demon slayer and jujutsu kaisen (rememebr inosuke was a huge dick and basically beating up zenitsu when he first appeared but then was literally fine and friends with everyone in 1 ep), so anime like MHA and naruto will feel different. Both types have their good and bad, just saying so yall dont over expect things to be similar

2022-06-28 10:55:07 +0000 UTCI think you guys missed it earlier on in the todoroki vs midoriya episode but she couldn’t take the stress of being in the family so she went as far as to hurt todoroki when he was a kid. For a mom to hurt her child there was definitely something off. Todos dad admitted her into the psych hospital because she was no longer stable mentally.

So him giving his all to me is like he’s giving respect to the other fighter as he did with Uraraka. So when Todoroki used both powers against Deku, it was as if Bakugo was offended that Todoroki didn’t see him as worthy of his all.

So like he was probably trying to stop showing her himself cause it hurt her, this just ends up hurting him also. Most likely he hasnt even seen her since his burn when he was about 6 and now hes 16 so... its probably been 10 years since shes seen him.

Perhaps Todoroki felt this and didnt want to give both Bakugo and his father the satisfaction of using his fire just to fuel their ego.

Regarding Bakugo’s temper. I believe that there is a correlation between his temper and the quirk that he has. Maybe he has difficulty controlling his emotions due to the nature of his quirk.
