2022-07-15 02:48:59 +0000 UTCI don’t agree with Mai and I also believe she is selfish and inconsiderate to a certain extent, but I do feel sympathy for her. For me at least, even if a character isn’t in the right I can still sympathize with them. The only reason I wouldn’t is if their evil, but it’s pretty clear that’s not the case. She’s a young girl with a traumatic past. from her perspective she was left behind by the only person who understood her. She’s flawed, but she’s not evil. To me those are the most interesting characters. I want to see her grow from her emotional immaturity and hopefully her and Maki can repair their relationship at least a little bit.

2022-07-14 17:09:38 +0000 UTCWhile I agree to an extent it is but a natural reaction. There is always two perspectives. You are only seeing it this way because of how everything panned out. Lets say the opposite happened and to spare her sisters hardships Maki decided to throw away her hopes and dreams to stay with her sister, I think its safe to say that she would naturally hold some resentment towards her. It's easy to agree with Maki's viewpoint because we see ambition and dedication as positives in society but from Mai's perspective she would probably say that its Maki who is being selfish by pursuing a career/passion over the well being of her family. Again I dont fully agree with that opinion as it is slightly irrational but it is completely natural to feel that way when you draw the short end of the stick. You're right in that the scene wasn't intended to evoke sympathy for her but as humans with the ability to understand instinctual human emotions its innevitable to feel empathy. Not to feel sorry but to atleast understand.

You don't have to agree with who they are, and who they are can be a terrible person but understanding how makes them a stronger, more understandable character and lends more weight to their actions and choices, both past and future.

2022-07-13 21:48:30 +0000 UTCWhat I loved about this episode was that all women fight and prove that each has different strengths and is trying their best in their own way. It was an episode dedicated to female characters and that is soooo refreshing in the anime/ manga universe. Usually, the girl is rescued or the subject of love between the male characters, or she is the one that offers emotional support but when it comes to fighting, female characters are portrayed as weak. Thousands of manga have this label on female characters. So JJK is doing a great job and more manga creators in the past 10-15 years (well publishing companies, actually) understand that a strong female character is also appealing to fans. Also, I did not know that Ron has a twin brother😊 . His channel has the Samurai Champloo poster...I really recommend watching that series or Samurai 7 (also short) that is full of action, drama and Sci-Fi. Thank you for the great updates❤️

2022-07-13 09:48:44 +0000 UTCThe black haired boy you keep seeing is Yuta Okkotsu the protag of Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 0 (the 1st 3 chapters of JJK) wich was later adapted into the movie. You see episode 1 actually starts at what is chapter 4. Basically after writing those first three chapters the author really liked this world and wanted to keep going. So he got the green light to just keep expanding upon what was originally supposed to be a short story.

2022-07-13 09:18:37 +0000 UTCThis may be an unpopular opinion but even with the context of Maki and Mai backstory, I still can't have sympathy for Mai. It's not fair to resent and carry hatred and anger because Maki didn't want to continue living the rest of her life as a servant. It's quite selfish to hate someone for wanting to better their life and not being content living at the bottom. I get that she didn't want to be a sorcerer, but you can't hold a grudge against Maki for her decision to leave and find something better than the life she had. They both endured the same treatment but Maki didn't carry hatred and spitefulness with her. She is kind, generous, and empathetic towards others despite her upbringing. Mai chose to let what happened to her shape the person she has become rather than understand Maki's position in the matter and become a better person. Instead she is rude, hateful, and ignorant to the feelings or others, and that is not something that I could sympathize with.

This is because the natural talent will be divided into two and so both of the twins will be relatively weaker. In this case, Maki can't even see curses, Mai is weak too.
