Garrison is the most overpopulated regimen not the scouts. Then the military brigade and then the scouts are likely the least populated regimen by a decent bit. They lose members on every mission and nobody wants to join them because of it.

I think the whole point of the setup of the scouts being the most overpopulated regimen with the least skilled soldiers on average is literally just a form of population control. The plus side is that if you survive being in the scouts, you'll be a way better soldier than the MP ever are. MP just have a high base level of skill out of the academy. but you gotta figure how rusty they must be, on top of most of them never having actually fought titans. MP aren't actually great soldiers when all is said and done

I think the takeaway from this episode is that Annie can transform without biting, but rather an injury such as a cut. Food for thought. Albeit, Eren also did this when he picked up the spoon. Just follow the bread crumbs.

There was a quote by Eren during their little training arc earlier in the season. He was confused and frustrated because “we’re honing our skills just to get further away from battle” or something along those lines. It’s definitely a backwards, selfish system that seems to be set up by whoever the leaders are.

Annie did not want to go down there because of how cramped it was. It does not matter if she kept going along with them because she already had that feeling that she was being set up. So she clearly would have been captured if she went down with them. She’s very smart

Remember guys, Hansi mentionned to Eren that during her experiences on the titans Sawney and Bean, she noticed that titans cant fight in the dark and they are weak. I even think that they fall asleep within 1 hour when there is no light... so thats why Annie didnt want to go underground.
