That Eren and Ymir couldn't transform at the moment because their bodies were already at their limits just trying to heal up? Basically I believe that was why Eren couldn't transform in this moment to save Hannes. You can see his hands, or fingers really, were still smoking indicating that his body was still healing. Which makes all of this even more heartbreaking when you think about it. Despite having the power to save a loved one, he couldn't because of unfortunate circumstances. It's no wonder Eren had such a huge emotional breakdown here.

2022-11-10 22:30:55 +0000 UTCits a little early, but i do think they should NOT watch the end credits scene near the end of season 3 part 1. yes the studio put it in so it's intended to be viewed but I think if we're talking about true intentions, the manga never had it so it's more likely just for season 3 part 2 hype value since viewers would have to wait. also I've seen several reactors be able to predict an episode prior to the actual scene so it kinda changed the reaction for them (IMO a worse reaction). i used to be in favor of having people watch it because it's not a huge spoiler IN THE MOMENT since there's no context until you start reaching the actual episode. it's a fun end credits to react to purely for the shock/entertainment factor but seeing how it affects the reaction of the actual scene when they start approaching the episode, the 2 minute shocked/confused reaction is not worth it for me. what's better entertainment : the confused shocked reaction to an out of context scene vs an unfiltered, unspoiled reaction to one of the highlights of season 3 I think both are great but I think long-term, having them not watching it is for the best. but short-term for sure, it's a lot more fun for us

He really nailed Eren's feelings of helplessness, frustration, and anger at himself so well. Fun fact! Kaji was given full reign of that scene without direction. He was told to do whatever he felt was right for Eren in that moment and they'll match the animation to it (Source: Kaji himself at AX). The Eren/Mikasa scene was also just beautiful and another one of my favorite moments of S2. Mikasa basically gave up in that moment, but because of her words to Eren, he was able to find the strength to stand up and move forward. To stand up and protect Mikasa. Him declaring that he'll always protect her now and forever was simply touching. When Ymir wakes up from 60 long years as a titan, she gazes up at the starry night sky with tears in her eyes as she realizes her newfound freedom. Now, she yet again gazes up at the starry night sky with tears in her eyes as she chooses to give up her freedom by going with Reiner and Bertholdt. "Someone...please find us" Well, Ymir certainly found them. In the end, she still couldn't stop living for others.

2022-11-10 19:30:47 +0000 UTCas Reiner had explained a couple of episodes ago transforming consumes a great amount of stamina and take a toll on the body ofc that’s something that can be improved by training your stamina (Eren is a pretty good example, the first time he turned into a titan he lost his conscious for a couple of hours and was worn out but he was steadily improving along the episodes) when the titan shifter is severely hurt he can’t transform because his body is already doing his best just to regenerate if you look closely Eren’s fingers are yet to grow back again he hadn’t fully healed that’s why he couldn’t transform, another thing I want to point out is although so far every titan shifter has a unique ability or characteristic they have some common abilities which are regeneration and hardening, those abilities are controllable (Reiner although he had a wound on his arm he didn’t heal it, Annie as well in her fight with Levi’s squad chooses to heal only one eye rather than both to accelerate the speed of healing) as Erwin said in S1 considering the novice Eren as a standard is a wrong thing to do. and just in case you didn’t pick this out too, the transforming is also controllable I mean the titan shifter is free whether to fully transform or only a part of him, like Bertolt when he only transformed the torso on the wall or when Eren blocked the canon or picked the spoon in S1

What's so cool about this is that in most generic anime this would be the moment where the hero yells really loud, somehow just gets stronger again and fights normally, but in AoT Eren wins using an absolutely insane plot twist no one ever saw coming. I love how this show continues to catch the viewer off guard while adding to the mystery of the story. Not to mention, Erens fucking badass line delivery to Mikasa right before he does it Fun fact!: Eren and Mikasa were actually supposed to kiss here, but Hajime isayama (the creator of AoT) admitted in an interview that he was too embarrassed to draw it Lmaoo

Just a little suggestion but I think maybe just writing some information might help you guys remember some of the stuff you guys tend to forget and get confused by it in the next episodes. I think it will help especially in the episodes where it's mostly informational and less action
