So, I'm sure I'm probably too late to be explaining this, but I just watched it and, to clarify; Erwin and Pixis are both commanders, so they're equal rank, just in charge of different regiments (Erwin being in charge of the scouts, and Pixis of the Garrison (being wall security)). The reason that some people don't like Erwin is that they don't respect the scouts.

Bro they literally are theorizing the beast titan is erwins dad right now. They think there is a possibility that the show is lying to them and that erwins dad is really alive(something that is totally believable at this point in the show, considering how they faked out erens death) Confirming whether or not that is true is absolutely a spoiler because to THEIR knowledge and where they are at in the show they still don't know who the beast titan is. For all they know erwins dad could have been secretly alive all this time. This may have been explained in an above comment, but there are 3 branches to the military: The Garrison - in charge of defending the walls The Survey Corps - in charge of exploring outside the walls The Military Police Brigade - in charge of patrolling the capital city within the inner walls away from danger (most recruits hope to join this branch because they get to live inside Wall Sina) Commander Pixis is in charge of the Garrison Commander Erwin is in charge of the Survey Corps Commander Nile is in charge of the MPB All three of them are equal rank for all intents and purposes The General or Commander-in Chief overseeing all three branches and the military as a whole is Darius Zackley (the guy we met back when Eren was on court)

No. He didnt want Eren to die by a titan, he wanted Historia to eat Eren so that the “coordinate” (they assumed was Eren, confirmed when Eren controlled the titan) they mentioned could meet royal blood, which they also mentioned. Reiner didn’t eat Eren because then he would need to be eaten.
