Season 1 is amazing. Season 2 you have to be open minded to, I personally enjoyed it, because it could tie in to later seasons. It has great music, all seasons do, but season 2 in general. But season 3 & 4 are just bad, I stopped after like 7 episodes. They would give you so little from the manga in season 3 & 4 and then next episode would skip you ahead 1 and a half to 2 volumes sometimes. Like they would be in the middle of a life and death battle and next episode they are starting a new mission like last episode never happened lmao. Tokyo Ghoul is a anime where many people even including myself want a remake true to the manga. The story is phenomenal, just idk what happened with the anime lol 😅

id say watch tokyo ghoul as a add on anime like once a week cos its worth a watch, i enjoyed it because i didnt read the manga. the main character is conflicted by emotions and i think you would enjoy it because unravel reflects the character throughout the whole show. at least give the first season a watch. :)

I’m all here to watch you react to the show. The show isn’t bad especially if you didn’t read the manga. Once you read the manga, then you realized they changed things. But that’s like any story or movie out there. The end is whatever. But the experience from the first two season was 10/0

season 1 and 2 are definitely worth your time. If season 3 and 4 "didn't do it justice", that shows how good it was before then. I would recommend the show 100% to anyone who asks if they should watch it

I completely agree with her point, as an anime only viewer I wasn’t aware that it followed the manga since I wasn’t too interested in manga at that time. Going into it blindly is an amazing experience especially the first 2 seasons. (Ma god do I love the ending of season 1, it cemented my love for this series and made me read the manga later on.) But I can’t say the same for season 3 and 4 as it’s blatantly obvious the storytelling and pacing were all over the place. Though animation did change drastically as it was 4+ years later that S3 and S4 were created, it looked fine. Personally, without those other factors I stated before, I loved seeing the certain scenes I’ve read in the manga be animated. Overall, I do recommend watching it as it’s quite a unique anime and one of my favorite series. Also the author, Sui Ishida, is a legendary artist I recommend checking out his artwork on his twitter.

I’ve read and watched all of Tokyo Ghoul and I definitely enjoyed the manga more, but I’d at least recommend giving the first season a chance…and possibly the second if you enjoy it. I’d also recommend Mushoku Tensei! there’s only one season out currently (I think season 2 comes out next year)and its a great story. I’m pretty sure this would be your first anime outside of shonen, since this one is in the Isekai genre

Although they did fumble the bag a little with the later seasons of Tokyo ghoul, I still think it’s 100% worth it. It’s one of those animes u have to see a least once even if u kinda don’t like it

As someone who’s never read the manga, I suggest you watch it and form your own opinions. My brother was against me watching it but I did anyways and was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Season 1 & 2 is so good! It does kinda go down after but it’s not bad in anyway. I recently started watching anime this year too so I don’t know what’s considered “good or bad” but I enjoyed it. I laughed, I cried, I was shocked at times. Overall I’d give it a 7/10. I think y’all would honestly enjoy it!

Ok I didn't read the manga and i loooved the first 2 seasons soo much. Probably unpopular opinion but i liked the 2nd season even more because of the emotional depht. But even tho I didn't read the manga the 3rd season was trash in my opinion and after that I didn'nt even understand what is happening. I would still recommend watching the first two seasons because for me it makes for a great open ending and I feel like sometimes open endings give u a lot more philosophical hints than the answer itself. Don't know if you guys want to start a show to not end it. But I feel like the community is definetely not wrong. Go with your guts! Most of us will be around anyways I think :D Don't change pls (unless u want too :D) u guys are great.

You guys should definitely watch and react to season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul! It was one of my favorites for a long while so I definitely recommend and know that you guys will love it! I’ve read the manga as well and can say that Season 2 and 3 aren't perfect but I still watched and enjoyed it nonetheless!

I know I loved season and 2, at least the ending arc of season 2, I recommend watching at least that. But anyway, Dr. Stone is a good one if you like great music, characters, art, story and most importantly science

Recently rewatched Tokyo Ghoul and I'm currrently reading the manga for comparison, it's not actually as bad as people make it out to be. There is still an overarching plot to follow through all 3 seasons, but there are some elements that you would expect to have been fleshed out more in the anime. The bits that are done well hit very hard, but the bits that were rushed (mostly season 3) leave you scrunching your nose at the screen in disappointment.

Any 90s anime fans remember Ruroni Kenshin and Samurai X? Ruroni Kenshin is getting a reboot next year that I’m excited for. The live action movies are actually awesome too. Probably one of the few live action anime adaptations that was actually good.

Honestly I think something that we all can agree on is that Tokyo Ghoul is deserving of the reboot treatment just like fullmetal alchemist got rebooted with brotherhood. The raw elements of the story and concept are great but the execution on the anime was lacking and not up to par. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood would be a great reaction. I actually think you guys would enjoy Tokyo Revengers and fire force too. Ron would love death note I already know.

the third ending is actually a transgender woman called queen bee. shes hella amazing. she did the first opening of dororo and its one of the best ops of all time. She also did a first take of the dororo op "fire". It is my fav first take outside of TKs unravel.
