You cannot be serious rn? Y’all are too thirsty to attack any tidbit as a “spoiler” now. The full experience of the moment you THINK this spoils (which is so inconsequential to begin with) would be lost on anyone who doesn’t know this info. It’s literally the name of the series. LITERALLY. And it’s made known to the Japanese speaking audience from day one. The show does not “tell them” this. Tf? Or did I miss a 4th wall breaking moment where they acknowledge they’re in an anime and talk about the mistranslated title?? Come on now. Although I 100% disagree this is a spoiler in every sense of the word, IF this does spoil something.. if anything.. it’s because Y’ALL pointed it out. That's why we see him being so motivated and full of pride after the scene and you can tell that by him saying "I hope that brat is dead"

It was meant to be seen during the show and i don’t think it really matters all that much (my opinion.) Are there some tidbits of information that have bits of spoilers in it, absolutely. So, when Historia killed Rod, you see all of these flashbacks that Historia is seeing. Those flashbacks aren't her memories, she's not "remembering" them like she witnessed all those incidents before. You can see how in some parts of it it's like you're the one seeing the memories in someone's point of view as some characters like Freida looking at "us" and says "father" and another character also does the same but instead says "brother". If the flashbacks we're seeing is from Historia's memories, it wouldn't make sense because obviously, she isn't a "father" nor a "brother" to anyone. I'm sure Michelle and Ron already watched the next episode and know more about it now, but I just want to clarify that those flashbacks are someone else's memories.

Seeing him smile again and having that newfound confidence in himself right before transforming was everything! Aside from Historia's scenes, that was easily the best moment of this episode for me. Honestly though, these past three episodes has been astounding for both Eren and Historia's character development! We have Eren completely breaking down, feeling remorseful, being reflective, and also regaining a sense of newfound confidence in himself (again, that smile was everything!!). Then we have Historia who went from that fake, goody two shoes nobody to someone coming into her own, taking command of her life, and becoming the Queen she was meant to be. Just all around fantastic!! Not going to lie but the last memories from Rod that Historia saw actually made me feel a little bad for him. It made me understand his actions. He thought he was doing the right thing by trying to put the Founding Titan back in its rightful place so that "God" could come back. From his POV, his father, his brother, and even his daughter wouldn't free humanity of titans so it must've been for the best, right? Given all of that, I don't blame Rod for believing this was what's best because what should you believe?

Although hes been kind of depressed up until this episode, he's not hitting himself to hate on himself. Rather, its his way of beating that depressed/pity party side out of him. When he says "I hope that brat is dead" or whatever, he's essentially saying I hope the depressed/looming version of me is now gone. And then later we see him back in control, confident and collected. Its a really cool moment imo, he basically was just telling himself to get it together. Its like that phrase "beat some sense into him", he just did it to himself

2022-12-01 20:10:08 +0000 UTCBtw if y’all didn’t already, you might be interested in knowing “Attack on Titan” is an bad translation of the actual name of the series, “Shingeki no Kyojin.” This isn’t exactly an accurate translation either but for simplicity’s sake, it actually means “The Attack Titan.” (E.g. “Yoroi no Kyojin” is translated to “The Armored Titan” and “Kemono no Kyojin” is translated to “The Beast Titan,” etc.)
