A lot of people hated the protagonists voice acting for the first few episodes, but it gets better as the show goes on. The anime is on a break, but should hopefully be back in the next year or 2 following the Netflix movie coming out soon on Netflix, which I don't think is canon

If anything both of them lack what the other one has, imo. Black Clover's story and world is pretty solid, while Fairy Tail's story and world is all over the place. But on the other hand, FT's characters are unique, just like you said, and don't need tropes for viewers to hone in on who they are, unlike BC does. BC's story and world building puts it over FT for me but like I said, I genuinely love FT. I read the manga every week until the end and the anime's Japanese voice cast are a joy to hear.

Objectively this show is not sth you have never seen, I personally love it but it is VERY inspired by Naruto and its shoowws ..which btw as sb who adores Naruto I did not mind and enjoyed the shit out of this series..but just thought to warn you as its more of a comfort show rather than a masterpiece...there is not much invovation in this show, its rather a repeat of what the author know that work in the genre.

It has unique characters, character development and it has NORMAL humour, it has very nice atmosphere, a lot of emotional moments (BC doesn't have any i think). Black Clover is pretty close up there, but it's slow the humour is bad (As** screaming all the time, and N***le acting tsundere about As** is irritating too). BC has top tier openings in the anime industry, that's the only thing that FT doesn't have (FT openings are old style, not hype, maybe 2-3 song by the end of the series are hype and good).

2022-12-16 00:39:45 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of Black Clover (at least the part from middle-ending of anime, and the events from manga are even better), but being completely honest, for 100+ episodes it's kinda boring, the humour isn't funny (like the Noe**e crush joke repeated all the time), and there's many things to dislike. I think that show doesn't suit you really, at least not at this moment when you have a lot of GREATER shows to react (it will take like a year of reaction videos, and by the time you end reacting to it, the movie and maybe new seasons will be out, so even more episodes).

Gets hate and mid callouts for clunky animation/art, the main character yelling too much early on, it's slow start and having maybe too much comedy/tropes but all in all, it's a fun time. I'm an old lady that enjoyed it anyway.

Their release shedule was an episode every week if i remember (170 episodes) so they couldn't make the animation as good as other animes. But if you like a world with magic and knights, a little medieval style then I think you will enjoy the show a lot! As you could see there are a lot of diffrent types of magic/abilites/fighting styles and I really enjoyed the whole journey. The anime also encourages positive thinking and never giving up so I think thats also something you guys would enjoy ^^ There is also a movie about to release in 2023 and I really think this anime will be soooo satisfying to watch with movie budget animation. Also since you go full time now, this could be a longer project for you. There are also some fillers if I remember so you could skip these. And most fights have a very unique style, I don't know how to explain it. Even though the animation quality isn't always great, the animation style tries to show how intense the fight is and with a little bit of imagination, you still get hooked. (I can't explain it that well, as I'm not a native english speaker. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say ^^)

2022-12-15 20:26:21 +0000 UTCI only just recently watched Black Clover. I liked it a lot, and based on what you guys said you like, I think you'd enjoy it. It's a world of magic and devils. Really cool things. It has pretty much all the typical shonen tropes and cliches throughout so some blocks of episodes are a bit meh, but overall it's a lot of fun. The anime is kind of finished? No new episodes in the last couple years I think, but the manga is like twice the length at this point, so lots of room for new episodes. Netflix has a new movie for it coming out in March of next year or something.

Black Clover and MHA started around similar times so it would be cool to react to both of them together. Black Clover gets a lot of hate but it is really unwarranted because they hate black clover for things that most every shonen does. It also has 170 episodes divided into 4 seasons Kaguya-sama is actually a Seinen like Tokyo Ghoul. So the intended audience is older boys. Like you mentioned, instead of being focused on action and battles it is focused on comedy and romance.
