super late comment but for anyone new re-watching it and might be wondering. Regarding the end theory, they did mention that the Marley people had 7 out of the 9 titans, so the 2 missing is the attacking and founding titans. So 7 titans are on the side of "eradicate Eldians" and that is why they attacked the wall to get the coordinate while Erens dad is on the side of reviving the Eldians and that is why he "Infiltrated" the wall because he only wants the power, not to hurt the people.

Marley said it straight "we are growing, there are resources under Paradise island, we want them, it was in the previous episode or sooner. Add the hate, agrassion and descrimination after the previous wars towards Eldians + the fact that you can be attacked by the powerfull titians from the Paradise island doesn't just let Marleys leave in peace so they make their moves to deal with that . The Eldians inside the Marley's land treated like shit, getting killed, tortured and so on, they are trying to do something about it and also save the ones who are behind walls, cuz they know Marley are after them and sending titans constantly.

Guys great reaction as always but just so you know the rest of the world are afraid of all subjects of Ymir because they are the only race that can turn to titans that’s why they think it’s justified to attack and kill those people in the walls because they’re just “afraid” and they use Eldians (another name for subjects of Ymir) who live outside the walls to make them become shifters so that they could attack and have military power. Eldians are treated very badly outside the walls to the point that what happened to Grisha’s sister is considered merciful in comparison to the other Eldians in other countries

Eren refers to his Titan's name as 'Shingeki no Kyojin', which was translated as 'Attack Titan'.... but.....It's interesting to notice that 'Shingeki' is a word that means more than just 'attack'... Shingeki means something like 'advance'.... like an army in charge... We also know all titan shifters are able to inherit memories from previous owners, and each one of the nine Titans has specific Individual characteristics . The original 'Shingeki no Kyojin' inherited from Eren Kruger by Grisha never had it's unique abilities specified properly though. But they said something like this: The 'Shingeki no Kyojin' is the titan who always have been advancing, fighting in the process to achieve freedom... So one possible way to look at it: We may understand that specifically this Titan , the 'Shingeki no Kyojin (maybe we can call it 'Advance Titan' ? ) was always able to access memories from the future as his specific ability (as Eren Kruger does)... This ability may or not be provided by the connection shared with the Founding Titan

Of course viewers start the story from the point of view of Eldians, but as the story gets extended we get introduced to Marleys, and literally EVERYONE is feeling bad for Reiner/Bertholdt or Annie. I don't think viewers really take the side of Eldians, and i honestly think Eldians are innocent (Marley are guilty) in this whole story, at least until S4 starts.

I dont know if you guys know but 'shingeki no kyojin' is the name of the show in Japanese (recall to when eren said this in the prison cell referring to the name of his titan, 'the attack titan'). So basically the name of this show should be 'attack titan' but since the english translation of shingeki means 'to attack on' (as in keep attacking), we end up with the name 'attack on titan'. I think this is pretty cool though because the english the name of the show has a double meaning.

Well its both factors for sure, but the crux of it is is that they're racist pieces of shit. Harder to discuss more in depth without s4 spoilers so I won't say any more for now, but the main point is that regardless of any other factors, Marley will always want to fuck with paradis because Marley looks at eldians as the literal spawn of Satan. Everything else just adds to that. The thing is, if the eldians didn't have that power then Marley would have invaded and wiped them out years ago. Again, I agree the situation is complex, but the root of it is Marleys hate for the eldian people.

The name of this episode and the name of the Eren Kruger/Grisha Jaeger/Eren Jaeger's titan is called "Attack Titan" (Shingeki No Kyojin), which is also the actual name of the show. "Attack On Titan" is not an accurate title for the show. The correct translation for the name of the show is "Attack Titan" or precisely "The Advancing Titan" or "Keep Moving Forward Titan." This confused the manga reader at first. Because nobody knows why is it called that way until this episode. This is perhaps the first manga/show ever to drop the show's name almost four seasons later. Just to demonstrate how far the author (Isayama the GOAT) planned out the show. It's insane!

Atack on titan is a show that makes us reflect this with mastery, in a war there are no winners, and there are no heroes, from the point of view of the Eldians they are good, and from the point of view of the Marleyans they are good. And this is exactly what happens with the wars of our human history. Everything ends up culminating in a cycle of hate, where there will always be counterattacks. We tend to empathize with the side we follow, in this case the Eldians. That's not a spoiler, it's just a view of what we should reflect.

Don t worry you are meant to be still a bit confused. The perspective of Zeke, Reiner, Annie and Bertholt are missing as is basically the perspective of Marley , this is more of a general understanding that Grisha had and most of his motives. What you can safely take away from this episode is mainly that Eldians are a nation of people that can turn into titans and there is a history (that may or may not be true) of them being a tyrant nation . Their supposed past and abilities are why eldians inside and outside the walls are being treated harshly and generally feared. Funnily enough now Eren´s promise of killing all titans sounds a bit silly XD

So there are a couple of reasons that the people in the walls (Eldians) keep getting attacked. 1. Mareley hates Eldians and are very racist towards them, They USE other Eldians (the warriors) to fight other nations promising them they can be "honorarly maryleans" 2. The Island has ALOTS of resources which Marley wants. They only want to get the Founding Titan because itll make getting those resources much easier.

And I'd say there are several reasons why everyone wants to basically disturb the peace of the Walls to get the Founding Titan. Marley wants it to bolster their military power but also, it's an additional reason to actually go to the island because they want the abundant natural resources of the island. The Resistance with Grisha wants the Founding Titan because they don't want it to fall into Marley's hands AND they want to fight back. If the King of Walls won't or can't do anything to save their entire people despite having this power, then it's "we'll do it" kinda thing.

Marley wants the Founding Titan under their control, so they can exploit the resources buried under Paradis without the threat that the Wall Titans will stop them. (stated in the last couple episodes) Kruger and the restorationists want the Founding Titan to stop the Marleyans from getting it. Grisha and Kruger are not trying to destroy the peace on Paradis.

I like that song, and i'm a metal listener. But generally, i think the song is overhyped. It's a good song, it's even better if you know the context behind it (so the story), but i liked the other opening songs as much as this one, and the endings of S3/S4 were also a hit. But i don't think it's the best song of anime or smth, it's just in the top. The song wouldn't go that high, if not for the great show and the big fanbase.

To answer Michelle's question about why the Eldian restorationists, Grisha and Kruger want to infiltrate Paradis, is because they want to gain the founding titans power and use it to restore Eldia and what they believe to be peace by fending off Marley and the rest of the world that wants Eldians persecuted. For reasons not yet explained (yet im sure you can speculate why) Marley also want to gain the founding titans power which was mentioned by Reiner and the others in past seasons. It essentially became a race to acquire that power.

These two episodes are my personal favourites from s3. The whole shiganshina arc is amazing but i just love what the scenes in these past 2 episodes do to elevate this show from a great show to a masterpiece. Also Shingeki no Kyojin (the show's title in Japanese) translates to literally 'The Attack Titan' so this episode and that one moment was in fact the title reveal and imo is one of the most masterfully done and less cliche title reveals I've seen.
