I think she’s just like that. Remember. Himeno gave her skills high praise in their introduction. But she did also say she had a contract. That could be unrelated. We know humans are like that in this show.

Part 2 is currently releasing as well, so new chapters are dropping every week or so.

I took the cigarette as an interpretation of the Ghost's bond with Himeno and that she had the cigarette saved as celebratory smoke when they finally managed to take down the Gun Devil, which clearly didn't get to happen unfortunately.

They have got a lot on their hands. With this crazy schedule, Chainsaw Man Season 2 will probably only be released in 2024 or 2025, if they push it maybe earliest end of 2023.

Once Ghost recognized Aki, he respected Himeno's last wishes to protect Aki and give him back the cigarette.
