I studied in hypnotherapy and NLP a while back and can't just have enough of it haha. How we represent things and how it affect us, but also how we can affect those representation to affect us in a better way. I found all this just fascinating and if i have to describe it will be like seeing the invisible or the mana and create magic in our word 😃 It just happened that it seems that I have a knack for processing and explaining those kind of things if I trust my teacher and comments like this one, thanks 😊 Edit: I got myself a doubt, was it about my grammar and written form? If so, I may have misinterpreted a little and got ahead of myself with those explanations XD But no, I am still not a teacher if that's the case haha. Just someone that try to be the most understandable in a language that is not mine initially :)

I’m even more excited to see your reactions to the longer animes (like Naruto & HxH) where you get to grow with characters over a longer period of time and see them experience success and hardship.

That was the point of Eraser's talk with Deku on their way to see Night Eye. Telling him that Eri is out of commission and quarantined, he literally says "Eri can't be relied on" as the last thing just in front of Night Eye's room. It was Eraser saying "maybe she could have helped but she can't, not in time, not this time."

2023-01-01 19:00:15 +0000 UTCWhat makes the Overhaul scene more sad is that with him no longer having his arms and not being able to use his quirk, he no longer has the ability to heal his adoptive father whom he purposely put in a coma. Everything he did up until this point was to pay him back and now he is responsible for the state he is in. The realization of all this is showed though the flashbacks and his screams of agony after losing his arms.

2023-01-01 17:47:54 +0000 UTCMy hypothesis about why anime hit more the feeling than in another media or even irl is that we do not restrain our imagination as much a we do the majority of the time. Here we are in the realm of possibility, ideal or metaphor where everything that can happen are sort of pre-acceped, if that can make sense. We do not rationalize all that is happening to us and just go with the flow. Where in irl experience arise and to use a meaphor rationalization would like a beaver barrage that block/slow the emotion and the realization/acceptance that this is happening would lift it.

Also, they don't want to abuse Eri like Overhaul did. She has suffered mentally and physically from this torment for several years. That's why Eizawa said to Deku "we have to accept it".
