Maybe because fans had faith that people has their deep thoughts inside them, a good analyzers, or/and would understand how complex the characters are, the message it wants to relay, and the plot. It's a seinen for a reason.

Thors would have been a great leader but he would have to leave everything he had behind (escaping again) and Askeladd didn’t break any rules. (Letting thors crew escape) Both of them understood that Thor had to die no matter the outcome because if Askeladd didn’t kill him. Floki would kill everyone that Thor loved.

His hand was forced because of his position as the leader of his crew. Plus, Thors letting him live was smart imo. The leader ordering his men to withdraw was possible. If he just straight killed him, they would have all just retaliated and Thors would not have been able to protect everyone.

I've tried watching the show after it got shilled hardcore during the poll, and I'm at episode 9 currently, but I just don't like it. Am I past the episode where generally everybody is into it? It might just not be for me.
