They are literally saying that this is a trap, this guy is the bait for making Eren come out and be seen as a demon who wants to destroy the world, just because!!! He's ready to die just to convince people that they're right on wanting to kill/make war on everyone in Paradis, he said it himself, many are going to die with the attack, but it doesn't matter, cause they are Eldians... wth?... there's nothing to sympathize with... It is a fact that, now, Eren wants to eliminate anyone who stands against Paradis, but doesn't he have some reason? They were just living their lives, confined in their island, and Mahr came to steal the power of their titan for power, they weren't even aware of anything (the Eldians of Paradis), and for what? to keep controlling everyone else, and now they want to make them look, as always, as demons, just because they dare to fight back? I'm not saying all the massacre is right, I'm just saying that, from an 3rd point of view, in this present right now, Mahr is the worst side... and as Michelle said, I'm talking about the government, the people is not 100% innocent either if I must say, cause manipulated or not, they agree on war, and they agree on treating the Eldians living in Mahr like trash, and even they, the eldians of Mahr, they just accept everything they're said about Paradis, they don't even know them and they still hate them, and that's why Reiner is deep down the dark, because he realized that they started it, and it was wrong!...

I asked Can you tell me what Reinar, Bertholdt, or Annie thought that the people of Paradis actually did (emphasis on the word “did”) that meant they should die? The answer is nothing. They didn’t think the people of Paradis anything that warranted their murder. We know this because Bertholdt literally said it. Bertholdt told Armin “None of you have done anything wrong, and you're not demons either. But you all still have to die.” The Warriors/Candidates were taught that the people in Paradis needed to be murdered because they were related to devils, which made them also devils. So they went to Paradis, to people they had never seen, people who they knew did absolutely nothing wrong, and murdered them. They did not have to believe this. (The example of Grisha and others knowing it was BS) and they did not have to go murder them. But they did it anyway. And even when they grew up, they continued to try to murder people who they knew were innocent. The guy who fed Grisha’s sister to the dogs knew that she didn’t do anything either. He killed her because of her race. And I’m sure he was taught as a child that all Eldians are devils because of their ancestors too. Do we extend the same sympathy to people like him? I don’t. It’s crazy how many people are sympathetic to genocidal racists simply because we watched them all have dinner together and discuss their racist beliefs together as a family.

He had no other options at this point, they literally rallied the whole world together to massacre everyone on the island and declared war during Willys speech. That's why Eren transformed and ate him. No ones really had time to sit down and talk to one another, they've literally just been killing each other out of hatred all these years. Which is why Reiner was so conflicted about what he did, he understood they're just normal people. But at that point it was far too late to take back what he did.

I won’t forget the innocents that died when the wall was broken, Levi’s squad, Erwin and his soldiers, all the people that were turned to titans like Connie’s mom to be pawns in Zeke’s plans, etc. Marley deserved this. But the current marleyan government? I can’t sympathize with them. I don’t think theres any gray in how shitty the current marleyan government is. They’re bullying the entire world with titans and keeping eldians in camps. I do sympathize with the warriors, they’re also being mistreated and manipulated by the marleyan government, however I don’t think people choosing a side(specifically Eren’s side)means they don’t see the “messiness” and nuance of the show. I also don’t think staying neutral equals understanding it better. I personally think that while the parallels between characters are there for sure and I see why the warrior’s did what they did (they’re brainwashed and their easiest way to survive the camp is blaming paradis), I ultimately still think if Marley had done nothing the island would have left them alone because of the kings vow and people’s loss of memory. If paradis island does nothing they all die, and not because they’re titans ready to attack the world, but for their resources and founding titans power so that the marleyans can stay on top. I can’t help but continue to support Eren because of that since I couldn’t accept that fate if it was me-even if I don’t exactly enjoy seeing kids getting squished.

But remember, Eren is doing this because they ( the Maleyans and the rest of the world ) declared war at their island so they were going to slaughter all the people on the island just to use their titan powers and their natural resources. They have been trying to, training for, and (in the case of Reinar, piek, and zeke,) actually killing people who did nothing. (People of Paradis didn’t even know anyone else existed) The warriors knew this, but they decided to destroy the walls and kill them anyway. Then they have all collectively declared war on the people of Paradis, and Eren shows up and start fighting them. They started this war. They are getting what they deserve. I do feel bad for the innocent people who are killed because of the fighting. But not the racist military (this includes the Warriors/warrior candidates) who are trying to wipe out a race of people just cause of their ancestors.

If their version of history is true it means that the Eldians went pretty hard on Marleyans for a long time, so the Marlyeans maybe just learned their lesson and don't want that kind of oppression again. Not the best way to go about it since,as we've seen, Eldians are just normal people (that can turn into titans), but kinda understandable their reaction.

My favourite one of all the so called trilogies. I recomend you watch those 3 in one sitting or atleast with a very short space in between

Gabi would not have hesitated for a second to kill eren, armin or anyone else if she got a chance. Marleyans declared the war so what do you expect eren to do, wait till they invade paradise the way they did before. Eren understands but he is doing what he can to protect his loved ones. Also last scene where eren disrespected the hell out of galliard by making him nutcracker, I literally had goosebumps🔥

Man wants power at all costs, just look at the wars in our history. The world may be at peace, but at any moment a single man with determination, influence and greed can start a war. I understand that we must question who is really good or bad, if they are the Eldians, the Marleynians, but that doesn't matter so much. As the series brilliantly reflected on how the chaos that Eren brought to the Marleynians in these episodes brings back the natural cycle of wars came to light. There is no right side. We just sympathize with eren as we've followed his story from the beginning. Just like if your country goes to war you'll most likely side with the nation. Don't get me wrong please, I just want to bring this reflection to the comments.

Plus the marleyan arent really in the wrong after 1800 years of being conquered they finally beat the eldians then you have lots of countries wanting to take revenge on the country which was once the eldian empire, they are going to fight back using the titans since thats the most powerful weapons you got, then you have a sort of guarantied peace with paradise but with resources getting smaller and other countries getting stronger they attack paradise out of necessity though its messed up. Now you have eren who took that guaranty away from them of course they are going to have to attack them it just sucks that it has to happen, but with thousands of years of being controlled by eldians its not going to be easy to forgive a race of people. Sorry for the long post hope this clarifys some things.

Eren and Reiner's parallels, Reiner's inner turmoil, how Eren now understands and even sympathizes with Reiner and the "enemy", the understanding that Eren has no choice now but to move forward...and of course, the actual declaration of war at the end there. The entire buildup of this episode leading to that end alongside such great character interaction was just fantastic!

Ymir the girl we see in the show, you learnt of her backstory in S2, an orphan eldian child in Marley taken in by a cult of monarchists/restorationists who pretended to their followers that she was the reincarnation of Ymir the founder and that she had royal blood. They were caught by the Marleyans and sent to Paradis where she was turned into a titan. There she wandered outside the walls for 60 years as a mindless titan until she ate Marcel and turned back into a human.
