Also Thorfinn did say "run away" in English, which is why it shocked the two so much. They didn't think he knew any English, but that's probably one of the few English phrases he's heard enough to know by now.

As of why, well weare in deep past so expecting to leave a Viking group and be able to find them is kinda unrealistic. Really if Thorfin leaves Askellad he wont ever find him. :/ I love this episode coz it does not sugarcoat the way other revenge stories do, it is an extremely dark path that too many stories romanticize.It really aint that great nor honorable and I d dare to say its usually very selfish of a choice - especially in this anime where we all know this is the last thing Thors wanted. Either way suuper happy yall reacted to this episode :3 It was a great surprise!!!
