It’s a boxing anime and pretty old but It’s my favorite anime and also probably one of the best sports animes in my opinion. Just a recommendation if your liking sports animes you surely won’t regret watching.

P.S: the boy’s name is Shouyou Hinata but in Japan they use honorifics after every name depending on the relationship ( which are san for older people ro show respect, kun for boys mostly, chan for more informal relationships such as close friends and sometimes people who try to look cute use tan). For example, Shou (short cut for Shouyou) + chan (because he’s his very close friend) so that’s why you hear him say ShouChan. It’s not his name it’s just the way to call him in a friendly way. You can hear these in all of the animes

You guys will be seeing crows A LOT in this show because their high school name is "Karasuno" and "Karasu" translates to "crow" and their team will basically represent their school when they play against other teams. So, you'll see a bunch of visual representation of crows when karasuno is mentioned :))

Some context on why Hinata Shoyo's friends don't know the rules is because one of them is in the basketball club and the other is in the soccer club. They were helping Shoyo to practice and filling in the spots as Shoyo needed at least 6 people(volleyball rule) on your team to play and register in the volleyball tournament. The other 3 young boys were his 1st year juniors so basically only Shoyo knows the rules and how to play. Shoyo had no coach to coach him and learned everything by watching the women volleyball team in his school.

It's truly a show about people finding and following their passions and has good emotion, character development, hype, animation, and more. Additionally "Haikyuu!!" directly just translates to "Volleyball!" lol. I think Ron's perspective as someone who played sports in high school will really like it.
