My Hero Academia S4 Ep 22

Damn!!!! LaBrava and Gentle Criminal's backstory is so sad!!! Makes us want to root for them lol

Comments

I believe that Deku says is not in the sense that gentle was the most strong or skilled that he fought, but the most difficulty to trheat, in the sense thet the other villains he encounter had purely bad intentions, or they ambition were, but with gentle is almost like fighting another hero

Ricardo Fierro

Yeah I wonder if the animators added the 卒業アルバム (graduation album) in the shot at 6:23 as insurance

Chris G

"Villains are people whose lives had enough setbacks"

Luís

Even with the headphone warning, my heart stopped for a bit with that scream

Ashiq Kalsank

i really hope to see these two characters again.

SirGeel

Seeing Ron get into the guitar rips all the time just makes me more eager for us to finally get to One Punch Man some day. QQ

Nick is Rad

I don't think he meant "hard" as in power scale, i think it was the hardest for him to deal with a villain that's just not evil at all. He wants to do good even if his ways are not the best.

Valeriu Irimia

La Brava is 21 and Gentle is 30

Hachimaruu

We see him at 18 with grey hair. That's his natural hair color. The only thing age effected was giving him a beard

Waver

I hope they watched the post credits next ep.

Elicit

La Brava is 21 years old btw

Melker Linderoth

5:47 me waiting for more my hero uploads

Overbyte

Most likely Deku said hardest opponent because Gentle Criminal is not actually really a bad person and they both were like he said similar. That’s why he’s hardest to fight against by heart. But by strength gentle is not the strongest.

AJ Lab

I think deku said it was the hardest fight is because he sympathizes with gentle and understands him and not because of strength or power atleast thats how I read that scene

Anthony G

omg next ep is gonna be lit!

A1Assi

I still love Gentle and La Brava idc what anyone says lol

jess

Haha had to make sure someone said it. This is a rare instance of the dub saying it better. In the dub he says "You were harder to fight than anyone I've fought because you're someone I can understand."

Skyler Anderson

This is one of those moments that always surprises me, showing how different people understand language and words. It's pretty clear by "harder" deku didn't mean *literally* harder, but in some not physical way, at least to me (and everyone else it seems) but not to some xD

The Force

went right to the comments to make sure someone said this lmao

CrowsVA

I feel a strong connection with this mini arc personally. I mean the first time I watched it I actually cried and I think it's proof that MHA can give a character life in so little time and still do it justice. SMOOTH CRIMINAL IS MY FAV (next to Mirko but that's S6)

MARMAR

He was the hardest to fight for deku because he knows that he could've turned out just like him if all Might hadn't met him

Alex Boll

The reason deku said he was the “strongest” opponent was cause he understands and can relate to him. They both always wanted to become heroes. Deku only had his mother to support him of becoming a hero, but when the doctor said he’ll never get a quirk his mother moving forward pretty much gave up/let him down on supporting him to become a hero cause he didn’t have a quirk. Until he got his quirk from all might she admitted to letting him down and said she’s gonna start supporting him moving forward. Gentle had a quirk and had support from his mother but after the incident of trying to save the guy who fell, she pretty much gave up on him becoming a hero and he had no support from anyone and went down the dark path of becoming a villain so he can be known to the world. He knows gentle isn’t like the other villains. It’s very similar and something that could’ve happened to deku if he never inherited one for all. I know this is long but this is what I take from gentle being deku’s “strongest” opponent.

ichigo421

Does Deku maybe mean "hardest to fight" bc he knows that Gentle is not that evil super villain, like the other people were that Deku fought? So he kinda doesnt want to fight him but still has to

Trinature

Izuku says this, not because how strong he is. Izuku already stated he fought stronger and faster opponents. But Gentle is someone he understands. Gentle is someone who is just like Izuku. That's what makes the battle *tough.* Pretty much fighting someone that's like "this could've been me".

Oluxjam

Exactly. He wasn't saying he was the strongest opponent that he's fought.

Artistikk

His fight with Gentle had quite the impact on Deku’s way of thinking. But it won’t become apparent until season 6.

Matthew Richson

the way i interpret deku saying gentle was the hardest to fight wasnt really like a physicality thing but because he could understand and empathize with him and therefore didn't really want to fight him if it wasn't for the school festival
