However, I'm saying they are now in England based off the following reasons: 1. The manga clearly states that they are in Mercia, England. 2. Bjorn said "how do you say it in English again?" when he and his comrades intruded on Ann's home. 3. Askeladd and his unit got Wales as their allies and were permitted to cross its land. Plundering a Welsh village is like breaking a deal and betraying the general and other Welsh people who agreed to help Askeladd. Besides, Askeladd thinks of Wales as his homeland. The anime also removed several of Ragnar's lines from the manga that indicate they are no longer in Wales, like "turn back to Wales" and "they can't even push the cart in the middle of England." They should have kept at least one of these lines for the anime.

2023-01-27 00:54:29 +0000 UTCFYI the reason Anne says "I feel elated now" meaning like.. somewhat happy or relieved is because she felt so much guilt for stealing the ring and that she was the worst person in the world. But after seeing Askelaad's crew and them killing her village, she feels relieved because she realizes that "evil" is relative, and what she did is nothing compared to people like Askelaad and his men. Atleast she is fearful of god's punishment, and she's so shocked Askelaad's men are not at all.

And it also shows how far Askelaad is willing to go to protect Wales, he's still "pretending" to be Danish and act like he doesn't care even though in the last few scenes it shows Askelaad when they are burying the bodies and how he kind of looks sad indicating he doesn't feel good about what he just did but it must be done for his plan to succeed.

Specially so because it introduces the idea of "Christianity" and just cause you can do something doesn't mean it's morally correct. Literally the exact opposite of a Viking, pillaging and plundering to their heart's content, where as it's wrong if u DONT do those things.
