This is my favorite MHA movie, the ending gets me every time. I also love the thought that OFA CHOSE Izuku to be the holder of OFA. Personally I also think that the only reason Katsuki even accepted it in the first place is because it was needed to beat nine, I don't think it's something he would want long terms. Katsuki is more the type to want to be number one with his own powers and abilities. I feel like he would think it wouldn't be true if he didn't win the number one spot with his own capabilities, kinda like how Endeavor felt. I'm also kinda glad you guys watched it in dub, I personally prefer it that way. While the subbed version is great in any anime it can be difficult to watch a high action packed scene and read at the same time. It can also be hard to get the full emotion depending on the scene. But anyway, I'm glad you guys enjoyed the movie regardless!

The moves and abilities y'all forgot were all mentioned in season 1 or 2 and only briefly mentioned if at all after that. Howitzer was used between Todoroki and Bakugo during the school festival and mentioned during the training for special or finishing moves later. Froppy's mucus was mentioned during the USJ incident on the boat when she listed her abilities but we weren't told much about the mucus then beyond saying she made it as part of her natural abilities (though it was implied it might be or be able to become poisonous/paralytic when they hinted when the big 3 visited and the question was brought up like a throw away if she was a frog or toad relating to the differences in the original animal her quirk is based off of). One for All is a quirk transferable by the users will so I guess the implication was it used it's only sentience to follow the will of the user to transfer, but honestly it's anime don't worry about why too much. Don't blame y'all for not remembering all these abilities with how many there are and how inconsistently they are used. Loved the reaction and I agree the movie was amazing!

There's actually a lot of VAs that do both AoT and MHA in both languages. For English off the top of my head there's Deku/Young Grisha, Bakugo/Connie, Iida/Erwin, Jiro/Mikasa, Tokoyami/Armin, Shoto/Bertholdt, and Stain/Reiner. Don't ever worry about watching something in dub. Not worth it to let overzealous purists dictate your life. Also, since I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet: The reason this ending is kind of weird is because this was actually one of Horikoshi's planned endings for the series. He had the idea of Deku retiring as the greatest hero by passing OFA to Bakugo in the final battle as one of the many possible endings he could have for the series but when he decided to scrap this one they repurposed it for the movie. They had to shoehorn in the will of the vestiges of OFA (which All might talked about in s2 and s3) to stop the OFA transfer though since they obviously weren't ending the series here.

Regarding the dub argument I agree the dub in MHA is pretty solid but 3 characters are deal breakers for me watching sub: Bakugo's dub voice is pretty good but doesn't stand out while his japanese voice is just another level. His cracking voice in emotional scenes are unrivaled while the dub voice doesn't hit it as well. The second character is Todoroki who has one of the best voice actors in the game in japanese but in the dub he sounds like a 40 year old chainsmoker to me. The third is Tsuyu who sounds less cute and more like a grandma imo in the dub, plus she doesn't go Kero :(

I feel like everyone sounded the same except for a select few. That's why I personally don't like dubs. If I closed my eyes and tried to guess who it was without spoiler in their dialogue I'd had a very difficult time compared to the Japanese VA. I feel like with the Japanese VA each character has such a more unique voice and expressions. Each to their own I guess.

Don't worry about the dub, i like in japanese 100% of the time for different reasons, but some shows like Naruto, MHA, JJK have good dubbing. Or for example, bakugo dubbed voice is really really good.

I laughed so much when Michelle just paused in confusion the second y'all heard English. Honestly, regardless of which version other people think is better, I'm glad y'all ended up watching this in dub (your first foray into dub even if by accident lol). I think it's good for people to be able to choose for themselves which version to watch and there are pros and cons to each. However, for reaction channels, I do prefer seeing subbed simply because it's easier for me to follow subtitles since there's much more background noise/discussion going on. But anyways, loved the reaction!

Dubbed MHA isn't really that bad at all but hopefully it isn't a trend going forward. Your reactions make it enjoyable at the end of the day so that's all that matters. MHA movies are always good but this one is the weakest one for me. The whole giving Bakugo OFA only for it to not transfer successfully is kinda stupid. As a manga reader, I know there are things that get explained later on but it still was an asspull imo. Beautiful animation and as always, the music was top tier. Two Heroes is still the best MHA movie for me.

Rice hit on something very important going forward without knowing it, about OFA. You’ll start to see in season 5 and onwards, but I’m glad your mind is going in the right directions. I know someone else must have said it but this was the writer’s original idea on how to end the manga, and this way we can see it without it having to be the real end.

Flash.. You know that that's not true right? Literally everyone watches Cowboy Bebop in dub. Death Note's dub is amazing. The whole "I'll take a potato chip.. and eat it!" FYI there are a few spoilers because technically some of this movie comes after season 5 but it's not too bad. For example they didn't realize why dekus power stayed with him, that's because it was not explained in s4 but s5 about OFA Vestiges.

Absolutely love this movie and this reaction! The 'Might+U' OST adds so much weight to Deku's "sacrifice" and makes it feel so much sadder. Also love the fact that Bakugo flinches when he uses OFA for the first time and Deku acts like the pain is nothing. The dub VAs are actually pretty good, but I feel like the issue with almost every dub version of an anime that I've seen is the audio effects they include. It might be reverb, but I'm not sure. The voices sound like the majority of conversation happens in the same environment regardless of whether it's indoors or outdoors, so it feels less integrated than the other audio elements in the anime, like background noise.

The reason why Deku is still the owner of One for All is because the previous owners who still live inside of One for All felt that Deku's decision to pass One for All to Bakugo was right (because two people with One for All are, obviously stronger than just one alone). And then in the end, because they knew that Deku only passed One for All to Bakugo to win the fight and not because he wanted to pass the power to the next user in general, they decided to let Deku One for All. Bakugo didn't eat Deku's hair, but got Deku's blood in his wound (remember, they pressed their fingers together. If you look closely, you can see that both had a scratch on their fingers and were bleeding). You two might have forgotten, but the conditions that must be met in order to pass on One for All are: First: both people must agree (you know, the current owner must want to pass One for All to the other person, and the other person must want to have One for All in him) And second: you have to take the DNA of the current owner (eat a hair, take blood of the current owner, etc...) I can't wait for you two to react to the 5 season! In this season, you will learn a lot more about One for All and the previous owners. And also what Deku's "other quirk" is about ;) Your reaction was amazing, you are the best! <3

So I think they left it up to the viewers overall for the OFA transfer explanation but I think basically the previous owners and OFA heard Dekus' cry for help in the situation an responded to bakugos willingness and eagerness to solve he problem at hand. So in basic terms, OFA and its users allowed Deku to temporarily transfer some of its power to Bakugo to allow them to overcome the crisis. Which makes alot of sense because the Quirk is literally called One...For...ALL. lol So I like that little twist.

This movie never fails to make me cry. Seeing Bakugou with one for all was the coolest thing I ever seen. Seeing Bakugou and deku’s relationship with each other was amazing to see. This movie still remains my favorite out of the three. The animation and the music were perfect. Basically everything about this movie was phenomenal and I’m so glad you guys reacted to it.

Man! One of my favorite my hero movies. I think the newest one is my fav overall but this one is sooooooo good. The animation is so insane as well. I will say when I saw this in theatres I laughed out loud at the asspull with kacchan not remembering anything and OFA remaining in Deku LOL. The movies seem to try to just do something hype and don't think about what it means for the story as a whole. Like the first movie and the gaunlets and then this ending as well. Still love the movies so much.

This is absolutely no judgement on sub, their voice actors are just better. But for this movie I think for us dub is way better because of translations, some things don't get translated as best as they could due to culture differences so they don't capture the nature of the thing and, and VA isn't bad at all either. For example when Bakugo says "This is the end of your dream Deku" just furthers Bakugos respect for Deku, I dont think subs have that line

The English dub is goated. I think it just feels jarring because you're hearing the difference so far into the journey. I would still be watching it in dubbed (and I never watch dubbed) if they didn't end up having simulcast issues when it was releasing weekly.
