And even some of things he did for his plans are indeed part of a plan but meaningful in a good way. I’d rather side with Thors, nothing forced him to decimate all these old people, women and children. That’s why I love the episode with the girl that stole a ring. After seeing Askeladd decimate her family for basically nothing, she feels elated because she realizes hell might be more suitable for people like him than her who only stole a ring. To me askeladd is one hell of a great character but he’s not to admire

Askeland is what you would call a genius of his time. Smart, prepared, and logical. He rarely lets his emotions run wild and get control of him. Always logical and calculated (I feel like I function the same way), which is why he can think things through and not just let emotions get the better of him, which is something Thorfinn struggles with. I also feel like Thors was similar. Thors was so incredibly smart and humble, which is why I feel like Askelad shows him so much respect. "A real warrior doesn't need a sword".

BUT, even in this effed up relationship b/w him and Thorfinn… he’s still trying to teach Thorfinn the meaning of “a true warrior doesn’t need a sword”. Y’all are going to be deeply in love and have respect for the GOAT by the end 🔥
