Then another alternative would be just to get rid of the royal bloodline. In that way there will be people that would inherit the founding Titan but they wouldn't be able to control it at all without the royal blood. You don't need to castrate the Eldians just get rid off the FritZ blood line that including Historia and Zeke and you're fine. Even if someone would inherit the founding Titan in the future they would not be able to control it.

Love Connie man, love Jean to and everyone even the Marleyan kiddos ;--; really wish they couldve all lived in harmony but the world wont let them.. Also its so kickass to see Reiner and Annie fight together and its crazy it has taken until almost the end of season 4 for this to happen! #TeamEren

Eren chose to win, to fight, to not be on the losing side. Cause someone is going to lose anyway. Both would end in genocide, and that´s obviously wrong and Eren knows it. He just chose Paradis to not be the victim of this inevitable genocide. Eren obviously would take an alternative way, if possible. But is not. That's why he was so angry when he asked Hange if there's another way, almost becoming a titan. Armin thinks talking things out and understanding each other would work, and it certainly did with this new alliance and between gabi, kaya and blouse family. They understand that everyone is just people and that there's evil inside everyone. That people are born innocent and shouldn't carry the blame for things people did in the past just because they are of the same race: that's the wise conclusion of Sasha's father. Eren knows that, that's why his compassion towards Reiner was genuine and he said "I'm the same as you". But he also knows this understanding is not possible on a global scale, between all people in the world. Is just impossible in the timeframe necessary to save Paradis. Genocide is inevitable. That's why, even though he understands Reiner, he also told him "I keep moving forward until I destroy my enemies". These nuances are the beauty of this show.

I'm pretty much aligned with how Ron feels, I love Eren. I am team Eren as a person but not team Eren's actions. I believe he does what he feels is the best course of action for his people, for his loved ones. But that doesn't make genocide right. Sorry for the long explanation below, but I think context is important so I can make a case. First of all, the Yaegerists are strongly coded as fascists by the writer with their strong advocacy of Lebensraum (and I think this has to do with internal Japanese politics, but more on that below). In fact, Floch makes several references to the lebensraum ideology of eradicating people to expand lands and rebuild an Empire to its glory days. Now, they aren't 100% equivalent, and the Nazis never had any justification for their beliefs or actions; however, the rhetoric is pretty much the same if you listen to old propaganda videos, especially some of the stuff Goebbels discusses in his diary. It's also important to note that the Nazis didn't really claim complete justification with the eradication that they did (at least not in their diaries), but more so that it was necessary for the survival of their race, which is very much the same thing the Yeagerists advocate while ignoring the crucial fact that this isn't entirely true (but we'll get to that). However, when looking at history and the show, I actually think the show is really trying to critique Modern Japan against the ghost of Imperial Japan. There are so many references throughout the show that keep alluding to this from the horrors of the Eldian Empire (see Imperial Japan atrocities), to the vow against war (see Japan's pacifist constitution), to the erasure of history, (see Japan's erasure of the horrors of Imperial Japan), to those that suffered under the empire hating Eldians (see China and Korea when discussing comfort women and the Rape of Nanking), to a lot of Japanese not understanding some of the tensions (because of how differently the history is taught in all the countries). It's not a perfect allegory or metaphor, but I do think the author was trying to make a point with a lot of these themes, especially when you consider the current debates happening in Japan. Finally, a lot of this history is why I'm Team Alliance. I love it when cultural exchanges exist between people, especially formally hostile people, and the Alliance opens the possibility of this in the future. Looking at the challenges our modern Truth and Reconciliation Commissions have had in repairing relations between peoples who have inflicted immense harm on each other, it isn’t easy, but it is possible. One genocide expert I talked with said it basically takes several generations to remove a lot of the hatred, and that’s assuming that the parents don’t teach their children the horrors they experienced. This hasn’t really happened in this timeline because the king merely left and never put anything in place to maintain some sort of relations with Marley or the other countries once they were free. He may have had the right intentions, but that’s not what you want to do if you want to repair relationships with the people you have repressed for thousands of years. Instead, it just led to the massive resentment we see in the show. With the Alliance, there is the potential for peace in the future IF they are able to maintain a healthy exchange going forward. The truth is that peace is difficult and requires a lot of work and time while genocide is quick and easy. That's why I’ll always support people like Armin willing to put in the hard work of trying to establish some sort of coexistence and never giving up, even if they fail. For people like Eren who seek quick solutions and would prefer to erase history just so “their” people can live better lives, I simply have no tolerance. It’s like that age old question of “if everything the Nazis said about their victims were true, would it have justified any of what they did?”, and for me, the answer will always be “no”, which is why even watching without historical context, I’d still never support Eren.

First, Annie getting on my nerves again when she said “why should we care about them they attacked our homeland” when this maniac herself attacked people’s houses and crushed their friends with her bare hands and trying now to convince them to do what works best for her and her comrades!!! And our buddies here going along with them and killing their own friends (even tho I don’t agree with the way Floch is running things)!!! The Marleyans have the blood of the Eldians on their hands while Hange, Mikasa, Connie and Jean have the blood of their own freaking friends on their hands !!! That scene of Armin and Connie with Daz and Samuel still haunts me as well. Daz and Samuel obviously trusted them that’s why they intended to stop blowing off the plane when Armin asked them to, suspicious yes but trusting. If u notice Daz and Samuel just threatened them with the guns first and when they shoot, they shoot Armin who is the colossal titan as they all know! However, they did not shoot him in the head but the mouth and heart (as we can see their aim is precise so they wouldn’t have missed it if they intended to KILL them). So they shoot Armin just to make them back off and still pointed the gun at Connie but never shoot!! Even when things got conflicted and they knew Connie and Armin where traitors they never shot them they freaked out and pointed their guns! Daz never shot Armin even tho he was on top of him and even tho he knew Armin could turn any moment!!! Yet Connie killed them when he could’ve just shoot them in the leg or the hand and keep “their friends “ alive! Most people justify their actions and obviously root for them just because they’re killing the yeagarists who are fighting for their freedom! Do they have no right to fight???!!! WTF man I’m so sad

It's not that Connie will never be the same again but rather all the events that have occurred till now have changed him and caused him to reach this point where he gave up everything for the greater good. Jean and Connie are underrated but they are the characters who have had to face the most and also must feel the most helplessness regarding their situation. These little things are seen in small dialogues, in actions or even in how their eyes have changed. This entire group has a face that tells you right away that they have lived through unimaginable horrors and betrayals and have been at war for years without a break. I feel like they more than anyone else understand why Eren's actions are wrong as well as why he does it. I just love their sense of duty and how willing they are to even kill or be killed for the cause...

Rather its Eren wiping out the world or the world wiping out all Eldians and not just on Paradise. The thing is though, imagine yourself in Eren's place. You have seen the future in your memories. You have seen what you do, but you don't know why you do it because its something so horrific. So like a normal person, he ignores it for a while until he begins to see things play out EXACTLY as they do in his memories. Over time you start gettin overwhelmed with the fact that you might have to do this horrible thing you saw yourself do but still you hold out hope. You accept to try for peace. You even try to desperately find a way out by asking someone who you know loves you to say so and make you leave this path. You see your friends crusade for peace fail miserably and that is the last straw. At some point you see that everything you saw in your memories is happening exactly as you witnessed. At that point you have no choice but to follow the path laid out for you and "keep moving forward" to see the outcome. None of this was his plan but a path he HAD to take.

For me, It's the human condition but in art form, helping the viewers comprehend that the world is much bigger and complicated than the small bubbles we tend to find ourselves in (pov as an American). So I'd say they'd just go loose if noone controls them. As to the founder, since Ymir now seems to be free because of Eren it's hard to say if just having the founder would be enough to use it's power. It could just be lost forever if Ymir wills it.

On the other hand, if the entire world declared war on your home and all of your family members and loved ones (who are just as innocent) were going to die, all because of something that happened hundreds of years ago, who could just sit back and watch that happen? All Eren ever wanted was to live in peace and freedom; that really isn't much to ask for. But whether it was the titans, Marley, or the entire world, he was constantly threatened with the death of everyone he knew. You can't push people down like that; of course they'll do everything they can to survive. Overall, I'm with Eren, but he could probably tone it back a bit. You don't need to kill EVERYONE.

All the other plans were either to eradicate the whole eldian race or the the entire Paradis island. Armin’s plan in my opinion was also bad because it gave the rest of the world more time to come up with ways to efficiently eradicate titans. Titans were already becoming less of a threat so Armin’s plans would have still led to an all out war years after and would probably put them in the same conundrum they’re in right now.

But when literally the ENTIRE world wants to kill you and declared war on you FIRST, how are you going to blame a country for just wanting to survive? This situation is complex and mature, just saying "genocide is bad" is like a kid saying "killing is bad" without understanding there's scenarios in life where it is understandable (self defense etc). Then people say "ok but why did he have to do a full rumbling?" and they often forget that in the show they state that the power of the titans is quickly becoming obsolete as technology advances. Eren wants to make sure that his home is safe forever and knows that hesitating will cost his friends in the future if he left people that end up wanting revenge(there's spoilers that i can't say that explain this further). Also, the people who say "genocide is bad" always fail to mention that Marley Is literally trying to genocide paradis. This whole debate is basically choosing the nazis who in this show are the entire world, or the persecuted, and it's honestly weird to me how many people choose the nazis. Eren and his peoples' entire lives have been made hell for things they haven't done, their friends and family literally eaten alive, and then the world declares war on them after being warned of their power and they think they deserve sympathy? Yeah nah, rumbling time baby
