2023-02-22 22:31:09 +0000 UTCLove you guys' humour, but seriously answering Michelle's question: Here's an interesting fact that may be vital information for understanding this, when you have a certain rotation, the people who are in the back at start of rotation aren't allowed to attack or spike while jumping in the half near the net. So the back half people, if they wanted to attack, would have to jump from their half of the court before the line, and try to be forward too so they could hit from as close to the net as possible, making a back attack useful. What Hinata was saying was, its illegal for Kageyama to do a dump attack from near the net while he started in back half of court. There are more intricacies to this but that's my basic understanding :p

2023-02-22 19:38:42 +0000 UTCTo explain the "Dump from the back" thing: 1st: They call it a "setter dump" when the setter uses their second touch ofensively (like tapping the ball to the enemy side, or even spiking it), instead of tossing the ball to a spiker like they normally do. 2nd: Both sides of the court have a white line parallel to the net called the 3-meter line (because it's within 3 meters to the net). 3rd: Every round, half of each team starts rally inside this 3 meter area, the show usually call them "Vanguard", or just "Player X is in the Front Row". The other players are considered to be in the Back Row. Finally: It's illegal to jump within the 3-meter line if you started the rally in the Back Row, and a setter need to jump in order to do a setter dump. That's why it's illegal to do a dump from the back, as funny as that sounds lol.
