2023-10-24 02:43:24 +0000 UTCIt's not really a rumor. It was confirmed in the manga itself that the boy with wings playing with Deku and Bakugo was used to make the winged nomu. But that isn't why it targeted Deku. It targets Deku because that was it's order. Shigaraki told stain this as well.

I really think this season was made as a build up for season 6, with all this backstory and going in deeper with characters (both villain's and hero's). Can't wait!

It seems like he gathers kids and steals their quirks and collects them for All for One. But here is the darkest point, its said/rumors that the doctors grandchild is the kid that plays with Deku and Bakugo with dragonwings in the beginning. And then when Deku and the others fights with Stain, there is a Nomu with the same wings as the grandchild had that in the episode targets Deku for some odd reason (they point it out) because the Nomu is based on the grandchild. So its soo freaking dark, the doctor killed his own grandchild in order to make Nomus for his master.
