I apologize in advance but your comment caught my eye and I thought I might try to clarify why some may hold a different opinion. As I understand it , the members who have access to the polls pay to participate in the polls. The polls are a fair way to gauge what the majority of paying members want. Because the majority of paying members wanted to skip these fillers , its a disservice to post these reactions that the majority of paying members requested not to see. This would be akin to paying for a movie ticket to see one movie and instead the theater telling you that you have to choose another movie. I would also imagine this will have an affect on how much faith people place in polls. If the polls cant be trusted to be followed then some may choose not to engage thus diminishing the usefulness of polls. Lastly , I think the proper response in my opinion would've been to follow what the majority of those paying wanted , and if they really wanted to watch the episodes they could've done so on their free time or set up another tier for those willing to pay for it. As it stands there are paying members who voted against the fillers who now are paying for episodes they have no interest in despite winning the poll. I believe those are factual statements , as I understand the process to work , that hopefully everyone should be able to agree with. Everyone of course is welcome to their own opinion but I find it hard to label those who are disappointed that their money and vote meant nothing as haters when that is the natural human response to any situation where we feel that have been wronged. Hope this clears up something and offers an alternative perspective.

I always get goosebumps whenever I watch these types of fillers, just getting Kakashi and Itachi's point of view of the events just makes the story feel so much deeper. Ino's literally there for the sake of the Ino-Shika-Cho formation and he stated that Guy's team was built uniquely in a sense that they're taijutsu based. Also it actually is that way in Tenten's case as she was a part of Lee's influence in wanting to become stronger because she was always gushing on how strong Neji was, she completely pales in comparison but is a genius in her own right and trained hard because she had those like Lee and Neji on her team. She's fodder compared to the greats but you can't expect much else from someone who solely uses ninja tools.

As a first time watcher, I really enjoyed these filler episodes. Mind you, I voted to skip them. These episodes actually made me feel more connected with some of these characters. Specially Kakashi. Most people on here watched this show already and don’t need to watch these episodes, and I get it, y’all want them to get to the good part so you can see their reactions, I get it, I think we can all agree. But it’s also their journey. Yes, canon episodes will show you lots of these things you need to know, I also know the purpose of fillers. But y’all acting like this is the worst thing ever. Y’all already watched the show, let them and people like me enjoy it, the momentum did not got ruined, the hype did not go away, these fillers actually hyped me up more and gave me the knowledge and the connection to make whatever is coming next way more hype that meaningful than what it could’ve been. The fillers on this show are not actually fillers, they are backstory’s and very informative episodes that will remind you and go into details on why you should care about this characters and these moments. They also show the character development, which is so important to be emotionally invested on the show. If these fillers were like other fillers from other shows, where everyone just goes to the beach and have pointless story’s that don’t support the main story, I’d agree with all the crybabies lol but these aren’t like that. As a first time watcher myself, I needed these fillers. Like someone on this comment thread said, y’all that have watched this show don’t need to have more bond with Kakashi or any other character. We as first watchers do. Yes, canon explains a lot and gives you the information you need, but these fillers gave me the information and the bond I wanted. I feel more attached to Kakashi now. Mind you, I voted to skip the fillers, now I am glad I watched these. Most people in here watched this show already and I get wanting to skip, cuz you all want to get to the good part that YOU already watched. You think it will get ruined if we watched the fillers. I've never seen reactors regretting watching these fillers during the war but I've seen reactors regretting watching them after. And I'm talking about reactors ; not the fans that were watching Naruto as it aired. For example, I follow JD animé who skipped these and watched them at the end of the show and they said that they regretted this decision and that they wish they had watched these specific fillers during the war, even if it was "logical" to wait until the show was over. They said (not quoting them) that they would've understood Kakashi even more and that it would have had a good impact on their journey. I personally watched these fillers during the war and thought they were very cool. I watched Naruto back in 2021, by the way, so I would watch around 5 to 10 episodes a day. It did not ruin any momentum, it actually made me more eager to watch what happens next. And I don't regret watching them.

Most people who pride themselves on very well written and emotional stories as well as great writing usually think Naruto is poorly written. Most people who think it's great tend to be biased/loweriq/etc not saying this is everyone but for alot. I am big into film making writing and story telling I understand that the industry milks it's fans who brainlessly watch anything and filler was just a way to keep the medium going so companies can make money. Also from a writing standpoint no other story uses Naruto's flashback formula because it's redundant, it's easy to pad flashback and fluff for a bunch of random characters. It isn't smart and is edgy majority of the time TLDR The flash backs killed this show and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this. People would have criticized this same show if it came out today where anime story telling has been more refined and honed and rightfully so.

I'll never understand why people can't suggest for these type of episodes to be reacted to after the arc ends, it just ruins the flow. Whether it Canon or not, this was only done to have a bigger gap between the manga & anime. Like it matters now, glad it's over with already because we can now enjoy what's like to come until our next side-story, which is Itachi, which mixes it with what is currently happening in the arc, so it's much more difficult to skip.

The conversation between Hiruzen and Itachi is not in any canon scene. Just because you know the information doesn’t mean it’s a replay. These fillers specifically are just an elaboration to fill in any info blank spaces. It shows all motives and reasoning on why Kakashi did what he did and acts the way he did. These are context fillers. And for killing momentum I honestly don’t think it does. It allows them to miss it more so they will be more excited when they are finally back. If you had Christmas morning everyday you would never miss it or get excited when the time comes.

A lot of "fillers" are backstories of characters, knowing more about them will make you connect more with them, thus increasing the emotional response whenever a character dies/something happens to them/they do something and you can kind of "understand" them / their reasoning.

The beautiful thing about Kakashi's character is that he is most likely the character who's been through the most in the show. His mother died when he was an infant of an illness, he witnessed his father dead after suicide. At a young age he blamed himself for 2 of his teamate's deaths and even for not being able to save his sensei. But what we see in the main story, and what I find beautiful about his character, is that despite all these things, he finds a way to appreciate the comrades he has now and move forward. Kakashi teaches us that no matter what life throws at us, as long as we want to, we can always find the bright side of things, and I find that beautiful.

Not all fillers are necessary, but those that tell the connections from the past make you understand how complex some characters are, the best example being Kakashi who passed through so many situations. I'll speak on myself as a manga reader. Reading the manga I did not know how the original Akatsuki died. I didn't know when or how Kakashi met Yamato or any of Yamato's backstory. Just that Orochimaru stole some kids and he was eventually created. I did not know that Kakashi and Itachi were on Anbu together or how long. I didn't know how Shisui vs Danzo went down or why. I didn't know why Kakashi joined or left the Anbu. I didn't know why Kakashi was assigned as the leader of Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura and I didn't know how much trauma Kakashi went through to get to where he is now.

Side note, the point of Sakura and other Kunoichi on teams is to drive healthy competition between shinobi like Naruto and Sasuke so they can develop, not for eye candy and ofcourse being around stronger ninjas would naturally drive Saukra and other Kunoichi to become stronger.

Now after all is said and done...Obito fkn Uchiha is my Favorite character in all of Naruto. That aside tho... Im glad u guys got to see how Kakashi's past affected him up to this point. His whole character is all copied from Obito and he was traumatized from him killing Rin up until he became Sensei for team7. If u were paying attention then u would have noticed he only used the Sharingan to help his friends and not himself. Think about it: Naruto vs Deidara gaara chase, choji running from akatsuki, etc. I will not deny this is good writing, but hold your horses. Also, I once again implore you to wait until the anime is done before u get tattoos.

I watched these and the jinchuriki fillers every time I’ve watched Naruto and I’ve seen it a total of 7 times. This will be number 8 and with the geks it will be number 9. Everybody just needs to stop crying and let them enjoy the show they want to enjoy it. When itachi showed up as one danzos "bodyguards" and menacingly threatened Danzo, by stating his for for his littke brother and just turns into crows is one of the most cool moments in all anime. Its just so in character. Really shows how powerful and smart itachi was.

They are not put by chance, it is good before a big moment to remind the audience of certain details and to make him create that connection with certain characters.
