My Hero Academia - S7 Episode 19

Comments

I agree in the fact that Toya's not "THE" victim, every single one of them was a victim, each one on their own way, victim of obsession/situation/environment etc. and as I said before, Toya just took it the worst, going the wrong way... I think, if Toya would have been a little stronger mentally, and went back to his family before (and stayed I mean, obviously), maybe they could have figured it out, like their mom, she got help, but he choose to leave and full himself with hatred, even against his siblings when they didn't ever wrong him... Endeavor had work to do with his All might obsession and stuff, but Toya was obsessed too, he didn't understand that they were worried for him hurting himself, he wanted attention, ok, but his other siblings too, and the parents didn't know how to handle the situation (not judging, parents have no instructions on it), it was a hole family work to do... And be sure, I clearly love all the family, Shoto being my favorite since day 1 though... 🤩

The Todoroki family are def the best written in MHA

koza

I didn't expect this to be in the episode. That ending really hit home for me. Being the oldest of my siblings and having a father who was present but absent my entire life and seeing this all. Beautiful episode.

Jaysday23

That is just one of the many reasons to watch MHA, there are definitely more than one.

Hernkage

Amazing episode

bas de Ruijter

The todoroki family is the only reason I still watched this show because their story is beautiful because it’s so tragic Dabi they could never make me hate you endeavor you where a very bad dad but at least you started trying to be better which is much more than other terrible fathers does it forgive your previous sins no it never will but damn such a good story only reason why I still watched MHA

Marlen Mendez

sorry this is weird BUT yalls tears literally fell at the same time lmao I looked up to see both of your faces wet so I rewound to before y'all teared up and caught the moment lmao

jeremychavez

Sorry y’all… is this… cheating ?🥹

Wsgyan

I think I've watched every single reaction on youtube that's come out since this episode released LMAO

Aaron Ly

Good point, I could be interpreting it incorrectly, but it’s almost like getting hit with extreme cold by Shoto’s Great Glacier Aegir reminded Toya’s body that it could use ice too. I know there’s no evidence to back it up, but it would be pretty poetic if he had the desired quirk all along

Fola Omotola

lol let Ron have his fun.

Man, I read the manga, I knew this was coming but STILL cried like a baby. (;´д`)ゞ The music was top notch, the voice actors outdid themselves (Endeavor's voice cracks & higher pitch!!!!), and the animation & art did a great job adapting Horikoshi's bombastic and slick art style. Chef's kiss 👌🏾

botanbutton

@Moses T24 You are correct. But the fact that it even manifested was something Endeavor didn't think of. Ice was there but it would only come out in this extreme circumstance. His first son had ice but not in the way he wanted. Sort of poetic.

Same page !!

Ahkenaton Furdge

That's true

Melker Linderoth

because its fun for me lol

Michelle Lam

he started out a victim but became the villain.

Michelle Lam

id argue he started as the victim then became the villain.

Michelle Lam

kev

they could never make me hate dabi

Seb

I really like the callback to Iida's fight with Stain, and Stain seeing him push himself for others and acknowledge that he is like a true hero now, atleast it seemed like an acknowledgement to me.

Prateek Sridhar

I didn't think of this on my first watch of this episode but if Toya's body had more affinity to cold, then with his manifestation of Rei's quirk. I wonder if he could have tapped into the ice power as a child but he looked up to Endeavor so much that his image of power was his fire ability. From what I can remember he never tried to use ice, like he subconsciously told himself fire was his only quirk but his body was trying to tell him otherwise.

vincent

Not at the end, but when he was as a child he was a victim. it’s unreasonable to think he should’ve kept that child victim mentality into his adulthood. He was irresponsible and a murderer by the end. I agree that he started out a victim as well

Ahkenaton Furdge

I mean its all perspective - in my eyes he was definitely a victim of circumstance. He could have chose a different path but in reality he was a kid who never really received any attention or love. Definitely layers to it.

Idris A

The Todoroki family subplot of this anime was done so well.

ML

Again, Dabi is not a victim here. He had childhood trauma but never unlearned anything and chose the evil route. Most MCs in anime go through the same thing but choose the hero path. No excuses for Dabi to go kill all them folks

Ahkenaton Furdge

Unrelated but for October y’all should react to Uzumaki , it’s only 4 episodes

Jacob H

Dabi did choose to kill lots of innocents. He went through A LOT, but he's not really the victim

Melker Linderoth

Dabi loved his family, looked up to his father so much that one wrong move and decision from Endeavour sent him down the spiral of wrong decisions and hate for his father and family.😭

Phyllis

I might be wrong but wasn’t Toyas ice quirk only able to manifest because he was about to die. I thought of it like when a mother is able to lift a car to save her baby because it’s an emergency but she wouldn’t be able to do that in a normal occurrence just like Toya wouldn’t be able to manifest ice if he wasn’t at death’s door.

Moses T24

I'm guilty in doing the same lol, i'm not sure it's a problem or not. I've watched people react to certain animes over 10 times together with them.

Wooklee

It's bittersweet that Toya was able to manifest his Mum's Frost quirk and in doing so showed that he actually had everything Endeavour was searching for and ruined the lives of his entire family for. The realisation that he ruined all of their lives needlessly, because of his obesession over an objective that had been fufilled at his first attempt is heartbreaking. Toya crying at the end after saying in an earlier episode that he had no tears left because his tear ducts had burnt away was the icing on the cake. Top tier Horikoshi, top tier

Fola Omotola

Gotta remember that after the star and stripe incident, international governments decided they arent gonna send their heroes in fear that they need to protect themselves. Hell, the US decided to give in and submit to Shigaraki if he wins.

Raul Sauceda

dabi finally manifesting rei’s quirk was so sad cause its like damn man everything endeavor did to him and family was for nothing

kai

The moment I saw dabi using rei's quirk on the brink of death to fuel his copy of phosphor I almost burst out in tears He turned away from toya to chase birthing a new child to sooth his defeated ambition to beat all might. He judged toya as a failure, but there, in the final hour, dabi proved that he was no failure. And endeavor finally got to witness his success, that he was everything endeavor had ever wanted in the beginning, and how futile and unnecessary and consequential those ambitions were. He watched toya. God it's possibly one of the greatest family dynamics told in anime ever

Aaron Ly

RIP..

jiwon330

Keep in mind that per the earliest dabi episodes, dabi’s body was meant for cold not heat.

victoria t

RIP singer Sayuri 😢 She sung the Ending/Outro song for MHA Season 4.

Phyllis

Peak bro that was insane and wholesome

Ron Jackson Jr

I think many people might not actually get it, but when you saw ice on Dabi's chest, that was the awakening of his quirk, which at the same time also unconsciously wanted to save him from death, like the fight-or-flight reaction Endeavor talked about. So you could say that Dabi maybe now has the same quirks as Shoto, ice and fire

RorotheShadow

damn u watched alot of reactors reacting to this episode?

Ron Jackson Jr

PEAK EPISODE 😭

Steph03 Tyna

I’ve seen a lot of reactors not get it but Toya actually manifested his mom’s ice quirk that was his awakening and that was why his body wasn’t adapted to flames because he couldn’t cool it down cause he didn’t have ice at that time

Wsgyan
