As a therapist, I just want to say that people deal with trauma and childhood adverse experiences very differently, and what coping skills/behaviors work best for you may not be the same for others. They also change over time bc we adapt to what is happening around us. Regardless, I would like to think that as long as we have positive/healthy outlets, support from others, and a goal to work towards no matter how big or small in the eyes of others, then we can accomplish great things even if it's not how we wanted/thought it would be. Anyway, I love this community and love anime for bringing us together in this way.

When I first watched that scene it was honestly hard for me to feel sad because I was so annoyed with how Usopp was acting. I felt he was being very selfish, for him to abandon his crew because he didn't get what he wanted. The only group of people that has ever accepted him in his life and he left them because of a ship. And I understand being emotionally to it but I don't think that's an excuse for him to go the lengths that he went to.

It always hurts to hear stories like this because I have such deep connection with my brothers and I couldn't imagine ever falling out with them. I think Zoro took it just as hard as Luffy, the fight with Ussop, but his japanese like upbringing has trained him to hide his emotions like you described. When they say "heso", you answer "heso". It's all in the context. Franky pulls huge inspirations from Jim Carrey's movie roles. At this point in time, it's Ace Ventura with the Hawaiian shirt, the hair, etc. Oda uses a LOT of people from our world as reference. Eneru's design is Eminem. Franky is Jim Carrey. Even Bon Clay or Mr. 2 is also Jim Carrey's dumb and dumber role. Iceberg is most likely George Clooney. Paulie is a Hugo Boss model with the exact same outfit. Lulu is likely to be Freddy Mercury. Lucci is likely Harvey Keitel. There's SO much more. I wouldn't look it up on Google though. You'll get hit with character spoilers. I'm only pointing out the ones that have already been introduced. You remember Jango from Usopp's place, the hypnotist guy? He's Steven Tyler.

According to Oda, Franky's nationality would be American in the real world; its insane how many American stereotypes he fit into one character. Guy has exaggerated eight pack abs, wears a hawaiian shirt plus a speedo shamelessly, is quick to anger and violence, and is well versed with technology and weapons. Obviously the stereotypes are being overstated, but its still funny to think about while you watch

Ron, i know what u mean man. I grew up like that too. 5 brothers, lots of us boys as kids too. Im the same age as you are so I know the days of fist fighting amongst ourselves. Always painful when your friends or brothers arent getting along with u and u part ways. I still have friends abroad to this day that left when were kids that i wish so much that I could see them one day again. That also means however, that One Piece is gonna absolutely break u and tear u into pieces man. Oda's pen is relentless when it comes to that stuff
