Shadow and Light, Yin and Yang, Imagination and Reality, Izanami and Izanagi, Good and Evil, that’s what the tailed beasts, and chakra itself are made from. It’s what Madara explained to Obito and Obito to the 5 Kage. It’s why the Uchiha can awaken the Rinnegan and have so much potential and evolve their Sharingan, and are so gifted in genjutsu because in revolves around the mind. Tobirama explained that when they were talking to Sasuke to a lesser degree. They inherited mental energy from the Sage. It’s why animals are so attracted to him. The ability to breathe life into things. That’s why when Zetsu clones die, trees sprout, it’s Life. That’s one reason why Hashirama is so special and rare and his DNA is sought after.

They came to the battlefield surprised by pre-planned reanimations from Kabuto who was the only one knowing how to do it......then Orochimaru came back and brought back to second (the only other 2 that could do it) and we saw how they made it to the battlefield....it's not that they aren't smart enough to think about it....that was never a plan from the start and there is no time to do it now even if they wanted to....only the ppl on the battlefield know now that it has been Obito....and 2 ppl know Obito's connection to Rin......Minato and Kakashi...

There's the Shippuden movie n°6 that was released around that time, and frankly you're already past the episodes when it was I believe, it's called Road to Ninja. And let me say, it's really good. Although you can treat it as a glorified filler that lasts for an hour and a half and that doesn't have to be taken as such a big deal story/plot wise, it really hits those feelings, I'm telling you. And I don't wanna be that guy who asks for more Naruto in detriment for other shows (I only clock in for Naruto and a few episodes of other shows), but if you'd have at least one spot for an hour and a half long movie to watch, you should really, REALLY consider it. Espiaclly understanding that you want your Naruto experience to be meaningful. And I'm saying with all honesty, this is around the time you want to watch it, otherwise it'll be a bit too late and it's going to feel less impactful.

Back when all that happened with baby Naruto, Minato 1st used the same sealing jutsu to get the half of Kuramas chakra sealed inside of him then he sealed himself with the grim reaper. And yes he took the most evil/angry part of Kurama with him and left the better side of him with naruto so that naruto has easier time "sweet talking" him and gaining full control over Kuramas power.

Imagine if Obito didn't use Madara's name, maybe Minato would be more confident that he would win decisively against Obito and be able to chase him when he ran away. Likewise with Danzo when fighting Sasuke, if he realizes that Tobi is not Madara, maybe Danzo will be able to overcome Sasuke and Obito simultaneously without having to finish off Sasuke by throwing away his Izanagi first.

The second hokage was a bit too strict and scary with his way of dealing, like ”whatever gets the job done” like his attitude to Uchicas, which can work but he can be seen as somewhat of a dictator. Rin is the catalyst for Obito’s motivation but he sees the whole ninja system as a fraud and wants to replace it with a genjutsu of happiness where he could be with a fully alive Rin matching his age, instead of a fraud zombie version. Also, he wants to obliberate the current ninja system so no one has to go through the same as him, so brining a fraud Rin back would not satisfy him

He was able to not just create clones, but rather divide his entire chakra existence in two beings. Clones are just a little portion of the actual caster, but this special jutsu literally requires half of him. That's why he couldn't use the particle beam when he was divided, because of insufficient amount of chakra. Here, Kurama's chakra was forced to split in two. One sealed inside Naruto, and the other taken with Minato's life for Death's jutsu. So, in conclusion, it is like Kurama has his consciousness splitted in two. It means, two lesser Kuramas. Hope my explanation makes sense and is understandable xD Also, every being has yin and yang charka (Light and Dark). Minato has one of them and Naruto the other. The Uchihas basically perished under his leadership, he was so complacent, he told Itachi you had to bear all of this because I was too weak and indecisive. He left Naruto on his own to bear the hatred of the entire village. I dont even think he looked after Sasuke as Itachi wanted. I wont lie he is strong, but as a Hokage, he was a failure imo.

Lastly, I really like that Obito couldn’t give up Rin as he was being torn apart by the 10 tails. It helps encapsulate his motivation even further.

When Minato was freed from the reaper death seal he and the other half of 9 tails which is still sealed inside minato with the 8 trigrams seal are still one. Just like how Naruto and his half of 9 tails is sealed with his 8 trigrams seal they are both one unit unless someone extracts the tailed beast from their bodies ala garra and his tailed beast they will always be one unit. You see Minato in 9 tails form, meaning he was able to control the 9 tails chakra, which is why you see 9 tails appearing in minatos conscious, just how Naruto and his half of 9 tails chakra talk to each other.

His motivation is changing the world that caused the Rin had to sacrifice herself. Bringing Rin back is a very selfish motivation but óbito is aiming higher trying to change the world and “save it” from itself. After all he already has the ability to rinne rebirth Rin but he hasn’t and isn’t planning to.

And yes, Minato literally has 50% of Kurama inside of him meaning that both halves are just 50% of their full strength. But all this to say.. obito gives no F… he wants the “real” rin. He doesn’t want a black eyed rin lol. So for him he’s done with this world if he wanted to he could’ve had kabuto bring her back when they first met, if he so chose.
