i dont even think you're reading into too much of anything with the splitting as it either doesnt make sense or isnt explained in the show, it is minor in the grand scheme of things though and generally extremely glossed over and i think you are still talking about it because none of the comments can possibly cover this and give you the definitive answer. Many comments are like oh he sealed the yin or yang chakra and this and that but ultimaterly the unanswered question is, why does splitting and sealing chakra somehow create seperate concsiousses/physical bodies The reaper death seal is a sealing thing, it doesnt create things. Minato with his strength can seal half of the chakra, but why this creates a second nine tails being is simply not explained. The sage of six paths didnt just go right theres a ten tail, lets split its chakra ten times and 9 new beings will pop up, no, he used his henchness to essentially manipulate life in some way and create something from nothing, creating the tailed beasts with the split chakra

Actually Ron, technically we have seen multiple Jinchuriki for one beast. The brothers from the cloud village had nine tails chakra from eating kuramas flesh and they could go into semi tailed beast states. This is an example of exactly what you are talking about but at a much smaller scale. All it is is simply dividing up the beast chakra. Even what Naruto is doing for the alliance right now is an example of this.

I think Tobirama is overall stronger. I think bc of Minatos intellect and battle iq he has the edge. Tobirama is definitely no slouch on the battlefield though. Fought Madara and Izuna many times and Killed Izuna, said to be as strong as Madara. If Minato wins it is definitely high diff.

Tbh Ron, it is a fair question to ask why there hasn’t been some sort of attempt at least in the leaf village to split up tailed beast before. Especially in the past when the Uzumaki Clan was more present in the village. Also, in his prime Minato was the strongest Hokage behind the first hokage. He is basically an upgraded version of the Second Hokage PLUS he had access to Uzumaki sealing jutsu which are complex and legendary in their own right.

The reason why we never seen another tailed beast split up n sealed . Is due to 9 tails just having too much chakra . Physically impossible they said to seal all that chakra inside a baby no less. The other tailed beast chakra levels are deemed by number of tails .

@ron i think it's fine to question things and using reality as a baseline, and then the anime's worldbuilding as like an established ruleset. Regarding WHY we haven't seen tailed beast energy split before - first of all we have. killer bee left part of his chakra behind as a decoy for sasuke's crew to bring back to the akatsuki. As far as making a split chakra jjinchuriki, basically we haven't seen this because the other clans with the other tailed beasts were lacking one thing in particular - the uzumaki clan's sealing jutsu. Remember Naruto's mom came from a clan that was KNOWN for having insanely good sealing jutsu, the same sealing jutsu that kept the ninetails contained in Naruto's CHILD body. Remember how strong the other tailed beasts are? the village in the clouds was running through jinchuriki like tissue paper because it was too strong to contain in a human body - even one that spent their lives preparing for it. The 8 tails would rip its way out of the host it was so strong, so imagine how strong and precise the uzumaki sealing jutsu must be - my thoughts are the uzumaki clan developed such intricate sealing jutsu that they're able to seal specific aspects of something rather than just the full thing, and seal it in a much more sturdy way I think you (and you're totally not at fault for feeling this way) are falling into the pitfall of like, the whole ninja world knows what we know, but the reality is that knowledge of chakra and jutsu is very much protected within and among clans and nations. There's a degree of secrecy even within the village - for example orochimaru had an entire labratory of secret jutsu where he is the only person in the world that knows how to do it. The foundation developed special jutsu and Danzo put a curse mark on the tongues of all foundation members so they literally couldn't even have the information tortured out of them. So totally fine in thinking "why isn't everyone doing this?" iit's just really hard to get the knowledge, as usually the only time you learn about a really cool jutsu is when someone is trying to kill you with it. Think about suigetsu - I would LOVE his ability, but if i saw him in the wild and 1) didn't die 2) beat him but kept him alive 3) got him to tell me where to find the scroll, i'd still have to invade the village hidden in the mist to get the scroll, likely kill the mizukage and their version of the anbu, all to just START learniing the jutsu I love the theorycrafting btw of the "what ifs" you're not wrong, if everyone knew how to split chakra it's likely that other clans would split their tailed beasts so they could more easily store the power in their jinchuriki as well, and every clan would have a yin/yang jinchuriki, but you also have to consider that you're more than halving the power when you split yin and yang. The entire chakra is better than the sum of its parts. While it's more manageable, there's an inherent imbalance from using only yin chakra. IMO that's partially why naruto struggled so much to create tailed beast bombs - because naruto had to use his own yang chakra to compensate for the pure yin kurama chakra

At the beginning of the episode when talking about why hasnt anyone split any other tailed beast up other than kurama. I like to think that it not pleasable. One reason why they did that to kurama is because he has such huge quantity of chakra that would be hard to control all together. If naruto was sealed with all of kuramas chakra imagine the amount of his own chakra he would have to use to suppress the nine tails before they became a team. The other tailed beast dont have as much chakra as kurama does. Also if people want to capture a tailed beast for their power and make it their own why eould they then split their power into smaller less powerful versions of themselves tailed beast when you can have the whole thing in one vessal. Well ranking the hokages, I think Minato would still end up around 2nd before Kurama. His teleportation basically makes him untouchable and the second said he is way better at it than he ever was. Hashirama is the obvious number 1, but Minato as far as 1 v1 would probably be second. Anyway this is 100% his strongest form.

There's no right or wrong way to watch and process a show. Just because your way is different to others doesn't make your thought process wrong. Just keep doing whatever gives you the best viewing experience. That will then flow through to the audience. Regarding the splitting, my own theory is that the reaper seal is different to other seals. I think with most other seals it's kind of an all or or nothing and if they don't seal all the chakra it fails/the seal breaks - like trying to close a lid on a box that's over full, it's impossible. Whereas with the reaper seal it essentially taking whatever the user has the ability to get - like a sponge absorbing as much water as it can. Not saying that's right, just my thoughts.

The explanation is never literally given (which is GOOD), but you can definitely deduce that when you see it. The technique Minato used to split the Nine tails was an Uzumaki clan sealing jutsu, but they were wiped out. Minato learned the technique from Kushina’s mother and after they died no one but the third hokage could use it. No one else thought to split the tailed beasts up like that because the sealing jutsu used was a forbidden and protected jutsu and the other villages knew nothing of that technique.

On a smaller scale we have seen Jinchuriki split up. With the Gold and Silver Brothers that ate Kurama from the inside and gained his power from it. Thus leading to Obito being able to use their sealed form in the jar to help create the tentails and when Killer bee uses his tail as a clone to make them believe he has been captured and they're able to extract some of the eight tails from it. We have just never seen anyone seal part of another portion of one in themselves before. Remember also that Kurama is constantly sitting inside naruto drawing on nature energy and that's why he is able to constantly recoup more chakra for Naruto to go into his chakra modes. I guess technically you could make the case that we have seen the tailed beasts being sealed inside the Gedo Statue to make the Tentails. As well as the fact that the tailed beasts have all shared their power with Naruto now.
