I know i'm here late, but a big thing about Sakura is that she's the perfect middle ground. She is the best of what the normal shinobi could be. Also in the manga the eye scene was way shorter and not drawn out like in the anime. It was supposed to be pretty much right after Obito finished talking, and Sakura was about to attack that Madara Kamui'd in, and not Sakura debating for 5 minutes. Edit: this in only in regards to powerscaling for the first part, and the eye scene for the second part, there are a ton of character flaws in sakura that I dislike, but she's the best character for team 7 because of her strengths.

I don't really like Sakura as a character either but ultimately it's Kishimoto's fault as he simply failed to write a compelling young female character in all of Naruto. Karin is incredibly annoying and one dimensional. Hinata is cute but has no real personality and little development. Sakura's love for Sasuke is simply not understandable at this point and also feels one dimensional. There are some cool girl characters in Naruto like Ino and Temari but they are basically D-tier side characters with almost no screen time. It's Shonen so maybe this is expected and I still love the show but we shouldn't forget that annoying or inexplicable behavior of characters is ultimately the writers fault (Kishimoto's or the writers of the Anime).

Man there is some unnecessary hate on that girl. first off she is a medical ninja, she did every thing a medical ninja should do. she kept naruto alive, she kept sikamaru healed up when he was badly injured. she summoned the slug like 3 times , which again and again healed and restore the injured ones chakra. i mean fuck she did every thing that she is trained for. the fighting shit is second for her, should not compare her fighting with tsunade she have had experience of more than 50 years. can not compare her to naruto and sasuke both are from strong family blood, one is uchiha with the sharingan one is uzumaki with a fucking beast inside that is providing him the chakra.

Stabbing an eye out of someone is not that easy especially after he literally just saved Naruto's life by putting the tail beasts back inside him, she already considered Obito an ally then and as a medical ninja you were supposed to heal an ally and make pain go away not the opposite, all of that was supposed to happened in a flash before Madara suddenly appear in the manga but you know the anime studio had to make it a little longer to meet their time quota. She did told Sasuke and Kakshi about what happened off screen, Kakashi did say "I see, so that's what Obito said" and the reason why Sakura just realized that Sasuke has a rinnegan at that moment is if you go back you'll see that he had his rinnegan eye closed for the same reason Kakashi covers his left eye.

From what I heard, in the manga she was gonna stab the eye and she wasn’t shaking and hesitating like that, but Madara just came in and attacked her too fast for her to perceive, so Obito had to Kamui her out of there. The Anime studio just did that for some reason lol

A lot of people tend to boil down Sakuras faults to bad writing. I actually think she is a fairly well written flawed character. Her fatal flaw has always been that she's too kind, even to her enemies. She consistently makes mistakes because she makes decisions based off of emotion rather than logic. This can make her character infuriating to the viewer because there are obvious actions she could take to do the "correct" thing. However, if Sakura was a "perfect" character whose decisions always led to the best outcome a lot of the plot points revolving around team 7 would fall flat.

Ron's point about Sakura being smart so it's weird that she can't comprehend the significance - THIS. This the entire issue I have with how Sakura is written! From the beginning Kishimoto wanted to establish her as the smart, studious, Hermoine-like character. Basically her three main traits were: smart, anger issues and obsessed with Sasuke. But every chance Kishimoto gets to make her look stupid he just jumps at it. It's so inconsistent with what she's supposed to be, why establish her as smart if it's just gonna be ignored in so many decisions she makes? It just feels like everytime he needs any character to do something to move plot along he just slots Sakura in there, even when she doesn't fit. It's so frustrating!!

As for the part where she didn't stab obito's Rinnegan, don't forget it's an anime adaptation of a manga. In the manga after Obito gave his information on Rinnegan to Sakura, Madara came and Sakura was thrown out. It all happens in a span of 1 or 2 seconds, but the anime decided to unnecessarily stretch this part and make her hesitate waaay more to add tension.

You have to understand Ron, Naruto Shippuden is an anime that often stretches out certain moments to create tension. And that's what happened here with Sakura and Obito's Rinnegan. In the anime it looks like 2 or 3 minutes would pass in which she had time to destroy the Rinnegan, but in reality it was only a few seconds. In the manga, it was just the next page where you saw Madara appear. So she really didn't have enough time to do what Obito asked her to do. And I think you can see that well when Obito teleported her back to the real world, and then, when she wanted to heal Kakashi, it became clear to her that Madara had come and was now getting Obito's Rinnegan. Of course, based on how this scene was stretched out, it seems like Sakura is "late" to tell the others that Madara is getting Obito's Rinnegan, but in reality it all just happens so quickly and she actually explains it all to the others straight away. And should we be upset or made fun of Sakura because she was sad that Sasuke didn't seem concerned about her? I don't know, to be honest. Doesn't necessarily have to be. Yes, she still loves Sasuke, but not in that "childish" way anymore. She is no longer blinded by love. She is able to classify Sasuke's actions morally without letting her feelings for him get in the way and without blinding her moral perspective. She is now more grown up and is now trying to change Sasuke so that he has a chance to live in Konoha again. And that's exactly what Naruto tries to do all the time, so I find it really strange and also double standards that so many people think it's okay if Naruto wants to convince Sasuke to change, but if Sakura tries that, they say what she's doing is stupid and make fun of her. And whether the way they try to convince Sasuke is different doesn't matter. Because the reason Naruto and Sakura are trying to do this is the same! Sasuke is their friend, they love/like him and want him back. And I think one of the reasons why people make fun of Sakura's love for Sasuke is because it seems so damn one-sided. And that's not it at all! There are enough scenes in the manga where you notice that Sasuke has feelings for Sakura that he doesn't feel towards the other girls (like Ino, for example). The animation studio really screwed up when it came to portraying Sasuke's feelings for Sakura!

Calling Sakura incompetent is wild, bro. The time between Obito telling her to destroy the rinnegan and Madara showing up was max 10 seconds. It's stretched out in the series for dramatic effects but in the manga, in literally on the next page that Madara shows up in Obitos dimensions. If Guy had hit Madara in the head instead of the side, this wouldn't have happened. There are so many instances in this war that if someone had done something sooner then it would've ended earlier. Tbh it sounds like you're overanalyzing her because people hate her and it's coloured your approach to everything she does. Her being sad about Sasuke not caring she was stabbed for two seconds before telling Naruto she's fine even got an eye roll.. like cmon

One detail that wasn't so clearly outlined, the better you are at Sage Jutsu, the more human like/less frog or toad like your Sage Jutsu form is. Naruto's sage jutsu before and the first hokage would get some markings around their eyes and the iris of Naruto's eyes changed shape when in Sage Jutsu (the flat horizontal line shaped eye :p the plus now is because he's using Kurama chakra on top of it coz the vertical line is from Kurama's cat like eyes xD). Jiraiya's sage jutsu had him looking quite a bit like a toad so Naruto was already better at it than Jiraiya. But now, he's basically reached the peak of Sage Jutsu, only his eyes changed and there's no pattern around the eyes either. He's even better than first hokage. P.S. And yeah, I've never hated Sakura but I do hate this moment of hers xD
